How can three #1's be every bit as good as three #1s AND a 2nd? Is it that new math?
I guess he was talking about the #4 being better than #6 which would equal a second rounder? I dunno........
Their ones were higher/more valuable/came sooner than our ones. |

The only sense I saw was their #4 and the other first rounder being this year as compared to having to wait to us next year's....of course I'm hoping that next year's first rounder is the last pick of the first round! :) |
Re: Redskins agree to trade for No.2 overall pick in 2012 Draft
This is just a silly PR move.
The browns arent getting manning, they arent getting rg3, and they probably arent getting flynn. basically, theyre not getting any QB worth anything and holmgren is trying to pacify the browns fanbase by acting like he did everything he could and the rams just wanted to trade with us so theyll be less mad at him when they go another year without a quality quarterback. |

This could be the case, but if you are the Rams wouldn't you want the higher pick (Brown's #4) and to send RG3 to the AFC? Which is why I think that they may have not given the Rams an equal offer. |

Re: Redskins agree to trade for No.2 overall pick in 2012 Draft
Holmgren is full of shit.
There are coaches and front office guys that are friends all over the league. Case in point from the article
Holmgren has surely benefited from his own friendships and relationships many more times than he has been burned by those maintained by others. The Godfather of what once was known loosely as the Green Bay Mafia (Jon Gruden perhaps was Luca Brasi), Holmgren knows how to call in favors and/or throw his weight around when he needs to.
Sounds like a case of sour grapes to me. |

Makes me glad we made that trade then and not Now...

Re: Redskins agree to trade for No.2 overall pick in 2012 Draft
Don't know if anyone had posted this or not with all the RG3 stuff getting talked about, but I thought it was an awesome highlight reel. Looking forward to seeing that kind of play while wearing Redskins colors next year.

When is Jon Gruden's QB special again? I really would like to see his interview with both Luck and Griffen.

I guess it's a win win for us ..... Also on a side note .... On Griffins jersey do u guys think he will put the III after Griffin ?? I hope he does ... Looks kinda cool ... Rather than just Griffin |

Very cool editing on that highlight reel, and god he throws a pretty deep ball!! Thanks for sharing!

Re: Redskins agree to trade for No.2 overall pick in 2012 Draft
My biggest fear with RG3 is that he pulls an Eli before the draft and says he doesn't want to play for us. You guys have no idea how pissed I would be if that happened. And this fear is only because since we've traded for the 2nd overall pick, he hasn't really come out and gave us a ringing endorsement as a team he wants to play for.

Plus, he comes across as very diplomatic, IMO, so he may not want to say much until he's actually on a team.

nah i dont think hes like that, i certainly hope not. Even if I could pick out of the two, i think i would pick him. Yes Luck is going to be a good qb in this league but I think RG3 will be as well he could be something remarkable. |

He came out during the combine and said he had a fantastic experience with the Redskins coaching staff and FO during interviews. (Though that could be just combine-speak.) My guess is he'll be thrilled to play for us and not the Browns. |

He's definitely not that kind of kid.

Re: Redskins agree to trade for No.2 overall pick in 2012 Draft
I don't think he's the kind of kid that would come out and publicly declare his non-interest in playing for us, I'm just kind of concerned that maybe he looks at how much we gave up and is saying to himself, "holy shit after all they gave up, and knowing in all likelihood that will be my team, I'm not sure if I can deal with all the pressure that will be put on me to succeed." Everything I've read indicates he does well under pressure, but as we all know putting the hopes of a franchise on one kid rarely works out.

If he's thinking that way he probably doesn't belong in the NFL. There's going to be pressure no matter where he plays. |

But how many qb's have to deal with a desperate franchise like ours, combined with the fact that 3 first round picks were given up for them? I think he has the talent and right mentality to succeed in the NFL, I'm just thinking about potential concerns. |
Re: Redskins agree to trade for No.2 overall pick in 2012 Draft
I think that impressed me the most: the fact that RG3 was willing and able to propel Baylor's program.

The pressure is high regardless of what team you are on. I understand thinking about potential concerns, but in this case I think he's well prepared to handle it. |

I have not read back through the 50 pages of posts to see if this is already up but, wow, this guy is phenomenal:

I'm pretty sure that's why he hasn't made any comments one way or another about the Skins. |

Re: Redskins agree to trade for No.2 overall pick in 2012 Draft
My guess is that I say this once and then am ignored forever...
Since he said in his interview with Mooch that he doesn't like being called RGIII and prefers Griffin, can we please call him Griffin? If we're not going to call him what he wants to be called, who will? |
