Cam shocked most last year, here was a guy that most said can't throw accurate enough and all he does is dominate the league

haha I'd have to go Tampa |
Re: Redskins agree to trade for No.2 overall pick in 2012 Draft
Lets just say that RG3 is RG3. Completely different situation from that of Steve Young.

Love the positive thinking. |
Re: Redskins agree to trade for No.2 overall pick in 2012 Draft
I'm just curious and i realize nothing has really changed over the past couple months, but given the conclusions being drawn that Luck is 1 and RG3 is 2...what makes it such a "lock"?... I guess is what I'm asking

Colts owner said they will take luck a while back |

the colts have already agreed to terms with luck, 18 years, $362M, $88M guaranteed

except they can't give him more than a 5 year contract per the cba, and you can't pro-rate signing bonuses past 7 years, so i think this probably really really wrong. |

Re: Redskins agree to trade for No.2 overall pick in 2012 Draft
From strictly a skillset viewpoint:
Robert Griffin reminds me of Aaron Rodgers mixed with Mike Vick
I will say that he does scramble to pass much more then he scrambles to run but one thing I forgot back when I was making comparisons to Vick is that NO ONE at the QB position, possibly the NFL, has Vicks agility which served as the setup for a lot of Vicks big runs. Still I think it's time to move on from that. As I said before, RG3 is RG3. The fact that we have to take parts of the games from 3 or 4 different QB's shows that. |
Re: Redskins agree to trade for No.2 overall pick in 2012 Draft
I see a lot of Aaron Rodgers as well.

Re: Redskins agree to trade for No.2 overall pick in 2012 Draft
It takes time to build a team. We would have made major moves towards the rebuild this offseason if it wasn't for Mara and Cap punishment tactics. Us getting our stuff together as a Franchise is major concern of many other owners in the League.

Re: Redskins agree to trade for No.2 overall pick in 2012 Draft
I wonder what the "Don't trade for RG3 get Peyton crowd" is thinking right now? With all the QB fallout and hand tied front offices with impending QB fallouts from incumbent starters the RG3 trade is looking like a blessing. Not that we would have had a fallout with our "starting QB" but teams are bending over backwards as Peyton slowly becomes the next Brett Favre.

The only thing Vick an RG3 have in common is their speed. I mean that as a positive for RG3.
The only thing Vick an RG3 have in common is their speed. I mean that as a positive for RG3.
I think they have more in common then their speed; but their speed is a rather significant thing to have in common.
The category of current QBs with their world class speed contains 2 people: Mike Vick and Robert Griffin. |

what about bubby brister? 38 yards for the score!

Did anyone else know the RG3 had a torn ACL in 2009? It came as a big suprise to me.

^ Yes we did.
|
Re: Redskins agree to trade for No.2 overall pick in 2012 Draft
I see a lot of Aaron in RG3 ... Aaron Brooks, hopefully with a higher ceiling.

Yeah. To me, this showed one of his biggest strengths- being dealt with adversity and coming out stronger at the end of it. You found out at least one thing from this - he's no Ryan Leaf. |

Manning is nothing like Favre, c'mon man. Manning has handled himself like a consummate professional throughout the entire process of being seriously injured, cut and then selecting his next team. I think the only "quality" the two share is competitiveness but even therein I see a difference i.e. Favre extending his career out of spite while Manning IMO wants to compete because he loves the game. :twocents: |

I don't know man, I mean maybe I was a little to quick to play the Favre card but we're hearing it being brought up more and more as this "process" continues to go along. I think the main problem people have is not that he's taking his time, but he's visiting teams with semi-established QB's and at this point he's gone for visits with so many teams that he's leaving a decent portion of the league with relationships to repair with their incumbents. |

But every FO has to consider what's best for the franchise over, say, what's best for last year's QB. In the case of San Fran and Smith, well he's a FA just like Peyton, and everybody realizes that team becomes an instant SB contender with Peyton under center. ...it's a tough business to be sure but what isn't these days! |
Re: Redskins agree to trade for No.2 overall pick in 2012 Draft
lol it's been a week... and we're already comparing Manning to Favre?
He's in a completely foreign situation, I can't blame him for wanting to analyze everything for what it's worth. He wants to make the most of what's left for his career... If that takes a couple of weeks to decide on I think he's earned that right. |
