Do you think the colts are willing to risk taking RGIII, in order to trade him to us for luck plust some later picks? Does SS know if anything is actually known, but noone is letting it out that the colts are OFFICALLY taking Luck?? and this is just not the media trying to make it like the manning/rivers deal Sorry, Just waking up, so I hope I explained it well enough. |
Re: Redskins agree to trade for No.2 overall pick in 2012 Draft
We've already given up enough picks as it is. I think we'd be very happy with either guy.
That said, Colts are taking Luck. |
I honestly be disapointed if RGIII went to the colts.

Seems more like someone, either Wilbon or a Colts employee (read NFL employee), is trying to build up the hype for this years draft. Still I just don't see it. Especially with these pictures floating around the net I don't think Griffin would have shown up if he wasn't sure that the Colts would be selecting Luck. If he goes to a similar show in Indy to sign helmets then let me know but until then it's pretty much decided.
Thanks Matty. was just worried cuz the colts havent started negotiating a contract or signed Luck yet... maybe they are having second thoughts.. just my fears
Just curious, how do you negotiate when theres a rookie wage scale? |

I know what you mean. We've had our hearts set on RG3 for months. If the Colts didn't select Luck and instead drafted Griffin, I would be somewhat okay with it because either way we still come away with a franchise QB. |

I know Luck will be a franchise QB no doubt. I just feel like RGIII has the potential to be something we have never seen before under center and to think he will be wearing burgundy and gold just gives me goosebumps! |

Wilbon stole information from a person's article and didn't give credit. Cosell Talks: It’s Not Always Luck : NFL Films Blog Greg Cosell of NFL films currently broke down RGIII and Luck and he came away with the feeling that RGIII was better in the pocket than Luck. This is a great read and I suggest Skin fans (and other NFC East fans so you can see your demise coming) read it.
Two other traits really impressed me in evaluating Griffin. The first was his patience and composure in the pocket. He did not move when the bodies started closing it down. He threw effectively out of what we call a “muddied” pocket”. He did not need much functional space to deliver the ball with velocity and distance. Surprisingly, in my 5 game breakdown of Luck, he exhibited a tendency to move too quickly, to leave the pocket too early. The result was often a positive because of his athleticism and ability to throw on the run, but I am very anxious to chart this element of his game in the NFL. The second characteristic of Griffin’s play that stood out, and projects very well to the NFL, was his ability to throw from different platforms, or more descriptively, arm angles, and remain accurate. It’s especially important given his 6’3” height, an inch or two shorter than would be considered ideal for an NFL quarterback. I’m certainly not suggesting Griffin is the equal of Aaron Rodgers at this point, but that attribute has helped elevate Rodgers to elite status.

The bottom line in my 5 game film evaluation: Griffin is a superior arm talent and natural passer than Luck
|

Sorry, Just waking up, so I hope I explained it well enough.
I thought we already went over this insanity. A team isn't going to draft a person they don't want in hopes of leveraging some team to give them draft picks.
It’s unknown when, or if, the Colts will take a closer look at Griffin. If they don’t, it most likely will mean that Luck will be the pick.
It was my understanding that the Colts had already invited RG3 to their facility and he refused to go. Remember however that the Colts were rumored to have brought a lot of coaches to the RG3 Pro Day, then only brought 2 people (QB, and LB coach) to the Luck Pro Day. So I'm not sure if this is the team simply wanting their own private showing or if they will be discussing more. IF RG3 did refuse to go see them then there could be many things derived from that. |

Who is saying he refused to work out for the Colts?

I think you pulled that out of thin air. Any source on RGIII refusing to do a private workout with the Colts? If anything, it's the Colts that are responsible for no private workout being given. That's because they have a owner who's already dead set on Luck since he most likely mirrors the image of Peyton. |

All I can find is some chatter on Twitter that RG3 turned down ALL private workouts, letting his combine and pro day stand on their own. So to clarify, he did not specifically turn down just the Colts. |

Just curious, how do you negotiate when theres a rookie wage scale?
Well it's my understanding the rookie wage scale is just a guideline for what they should be payed according to draft slot. Teams still have to negotiate contracts with the rookies. But I think there is an actual cap on how much money you can distribute to your rookie class, and that factors into it as well. |
Griff declined invite from colts according to irsays twitter

Since it's pretty clear he's coming here (forget Wilbon, he is just backing up what his boy McBust said and is equally bitter) I wonder why he didn't want to come in and do a private workout with the Redskins. I guess more than anything it confirms what we already knew. Luck to Indy, RG3 to the Skins. The Skins were sold the moment they traded up. What's the point in wasting everyone's time in working him out. |

I think he declined all workouts because he thinks there is nothing left for him to prove to any team. He knows the lowest he's going is 2nd overall, you can see everything you need to see on the field in his game tape, and he's probably interviewed with plenty of teams at the combine already. |
