When I moved from D.C. to Madison, WI a few years ago, I thought "this is temporary, I'm going back to D.C. as soon as I can." Now, I can't imagine leaving the place. The people here are, for the most part, pretty incredible. I know a lot of people think that the Midwest "is a place I fly over while traveling between the coasts," but there are some really great places and people in between D.C. and L.A.

I hear that's a pretty big pet peeve in the rest of the country.

Nobody in Chicago can drive anyway.
