Re: Redskins to have private workout with Sanchez.
Well the rumor is that Jason Smith and the Lions have already begun contract negotiations. So that pushes both Stafford and Sanchez down.
Sanchez to the Redskins is not likely, but just for fun...Redskins are part of a three team deal that sends Brennan to the Broncos, Cutler to a 3rd team, some picks to the Redskins, we take Sanchez (but are still able to get an OT and/or LB early in the draft), Campbell starts in 2009...Sanchez steps in in 2010 But seriously, he's not coming here |

Re: Redskins to have private workout with Sanchez.
This is nothing new. All teams have private workouts with top prospects even though they probably won't draft them.

For those people who think that there are possibilities for Redskins to draft Sanchez..

Re: Redskins to have private workout with Sanchez.
Well to be honest has JC done enough for the team to not look at the QB position. This is his year to show what he can do and if he fails I like having a plan B.

Re: Redskins to have private workout with Sanchez.
Shouldn't Campbell start throwing a tantrum about these trade rumors and now these Sanchez speculations? Maybe some fans in here would like him if he did that.

Re: Redskins to have private workout with Sanchez.
These intersts are only for misdirection to other teams for the draft. We have already drafted a QB last year in Brennan to be groomed. The Redskins, if they are smart at all, will bolster there Offensive line to protect whoever is at QB. otherwise, evne a seasoned veteran will be battered and we will have no time to get any plays off. We will be sitting home again for the playoffs.

California at the owners meetings. ( no doubt working on 5 team trades sending every current Redskin to other teams while bringing Mason Mann and McMullen back) |

 I'm going to start a rumor that I'm doing a private workout for the Redskins...I can see the headlines: "Redskins hold private work out for 30 yr old out of shape guy" |
Re: Redskins to have private workout with Sanchez.
Sanchez is definitely my favorite of the QBs in the draft this year, but i dont think we are any more likely to take Sanchez in the draft as we were to take jamarcus russell when we worked him out two years ago.
Given the alleged lack of confidence the team has in Campbell, the idea that we may draft Sanchez only encourages other treams to trade up to have a shot at him... which gives us the opportunity to trade down. Hopefully, we'll stay at 13 and draft Oher if he's there. The dude could start immediately and by 2010 at the latest, take over at LT and let Samuels slide over to RT. |
Re: Redskins to have private workout with Sanchez.
When they worked out J. Russell a couple years ago, what I thought was they were doing their "due diligence," as others have said.
What's the long-term impact of due diligence? You never know when one of these guys is available in a trade, free agency, surprise cut, etc. a few years down the road. It's good to have an early report. Teams are always scouting for the future even if they're not going to draft the guy. By being at his pro day they get a sense of what he's about, and can critique his game in a way they not likely not get another chance to. |
