Shocked someone else remembered! Good job. |
There's no reason we can't re-sign Moss to a cheap deal and have him continue as a rotational WR. It's not like he will have much of a market at all and it will be worth it just to have him in the WR room with the younger WRs.
It’ll be a buyer’s market for free-agent receivers | ProFootballTalk I actually agree with PFT, the market is broad. Robinson and Moss is a waste. |
Every team in the league has vets - whether they are contenders or not. It all boils down to how much money he will make, and is there someone better ( young or old)? It is silly to me to say he is old so cut him. If he is good for the young guys, locker room, and culture than let him at least compete for a spot. He has earned it.
We always go down this road with old guys. Keep them around cause they're good for the young guys. Today's NFL= young and cheap. We need more guys like Morris and Reed. Not an old vet that's going to catch 30 balls. It's time to develop Robinson and Hankerson. |

I said "compete" for a spot. Robinson will never be anything like a young or old moss. Dude stinks. Not sure how Moss being on the team has stood in the way of developing either of those two. He should be able to mentor them if anything. |
Re: Redskins Free Agent Re-Signings
Moss has been around as a versatile role player for the last five seasons and we've yet to develop even one receiver from the draft. Safe to say that his presence is not going to be the difference between getting production out of our receivers and not getting production.
If he's back though, that's one more spot on the roster not contributing as a starter, and not contributing on special teams, the two biggest problems from last season. |
Re: Redskins Free Agent Re-Signings
Has Moss actually signed a deal?
|
Re: Redskins Free Agent Re-Signings
If Moss comes back, I wonder whether having him do more on teams as a returner would be worth considering. HE's not done much of that recently, but he's had past success. I think speed is important, but he's still faster than pretty much everyone we have had returning kicks for a long time (with the exception of Banks whose speed ended up being irrelevant given that a stiff breeze would send him to the turf).

No, free agency isn't open yet. Only exclusive rights free agents can sign right now, like Robinson. |

He's past the point of diminishing return. He drops too many passes, fumbles too much and isn't dynamic enough anymore to take the top off of a defense. If he's back, as you said, that's one more roster spot taken up by someone who doesn't produce and that will be a failure of the front office not to better address the position. |

From the way people are b*tching about him, you'd think he signed some crazy expensive deal already. |

I'm lost why people would not like to improve the passing game. |
People want to get rid of Moss but keep Cousins? Cousins looked terrible against the worse defenses in the league. Moss is a true Redskins, Cousins is a journey man. Everybody's back up. Everybody's hoe.
AND one of my favorites. You keep Moss until someone can......push him out of the nest. When that happens....so be it. |

So do I, but rumors that they are working on a deal with Moss doesn't mean that: a) A deal is done b) They're going to give him a lot of money c) He's going to be the only option or free agent acquisition |
