For what, a roster spot? |

His 2005 secondary with us was more talented than the one we have now. |

Re: Tanard Jackson to be reinstated
Amazing new concept, yes... players, coaches and GMs talk up their team no matter how bad it may really be. And fans will always bite and feel like they're being fed "lies", and worse yet people think only the Skins do this.
Ryan Clark tweeted- "I haven't played with a defensive backfield, aside from Troy (Polamalu) that is as talented as the one we have."
Making a statement to give the guys a little confidence around him is called leadership. I know, it's strange to hear, this is why he is here. I like it |
Re: Tanard Jackson to be reinstated
Gruden talked about Tanard in his final OTA press conference. Said he was in shape and does not look like a player that has been out of football for as long as he has. Says he looks good and is willing to give him a chance.
I like it. |

Ryan Clark also said on NFL Live I believe that the Skins would go 16-0.....wishful thinking I suppose |

I have no doubt that he actually feels that way, and is being a leader, I am just saying as of now I disagree with his statement. Until I see the finished product. |
Re: Tanard Jackson to be reinstated
Ryan, you forgot you played here back in 05 when we had ST and a lot of talent on the back end. More than the steelers ever had.

Agreed. I remember people giving Bret Favre crap when he said that the Minny team he was playing, was the best he'd ever been with. They ended up going deep in the playoffs that season. Maybe Ryan Clark is being a veteran leader and talking up his teammates or he probably knows more than the armchair experts we have on this board. |
Re: Tanard Jackson to be reinstated
TJ is like a colt hero around here. But good to see him getting another chance. I'll always root for a local guy!

How could anyone forget the Cult of Colt??

Re: Tanard Jackson to be reinstated
If we had kept and started Colt Brennan, we would have won the last three Super Bowls. Stupid FO.

Re: Tanard Jackson to be reinstated
Yeah as wished that the team would had kept CB!

He had a couple freak hip injuries. May have done something otherwise. Then he had a bad car accident, and I guess that might've been the final nail in his career chance. |
Re: Tanard Jackson to be reinstated
It amazes me that the fascination with this side-arm thrower with a candy-ass arm who never played the pro-game (but, hey, he had moxie!) continues to this day.
I liked the guy but he was a classic was-not-and-was-never-ever-(no, not ever!)-gonna- be. |

I'm still holding out hope for a Colt Brennan come back. I haven't kept this avatar for so many years for no reason!

Injuries may or may not have derailed his career, but he did have a nice arm. In my opinion, we would've been wiser to keep Brennan and pass on trading for Beck. Neither have did anything noteworthy after, but at least Brennan had more potential and star power. In case any of you have ever wondered what the phrase "beating a dead horse" means, please see the above. :D |

Oh ye of little faith, apparently you have forgotten how he made Colts and Jets 5th-stringers look like hapless 6th-stringers! And he did this during garbage time in the fourth quarter of two preseason games, when the stakes could not be higher! The Rainbow Savior will rise again to judge unbelievers like you and lead us to 8 straight Super Bowls. |

LOL. His merely adequate arm-strength with (occasionally) outstanding accuracy was better than what Beck had to offer. And I remember John Madden gushing over a couple of Cult throws in one preseason game; not sure if it was a post-game analysis or what, but anyway, Madden was impressed. Re: Tanard Jackson to be reinstated
Would have played Cult over Beck any day of any week in any year... Ever
|
Re: Tanard Jackson to be reinstated
I'd start Tony banks over john beck anytime. Beck and that whole circus really pissed me off... Sticking with Rex we may have won more games tho and NOT had the pick strength to land RG3 ... SO.. is what it is I guess?

Cult v. Beck? Of two barely adequate QB's, yes - I would too take Cult every time. That, however, is setting the bar pretty low. Madden gushed over a mediocre player?? How could that happen?!? Why, he never said anything nice about anyone ever!!!!
Okay, this made me laugh.
Me too. And with that, I am done talking about irrelevant washed up never been QB's. Let's get back on topic and back to relevance by talking about the third string safety that's been out of the league for two years and how he is key to our SB victory. |

Quality depth like a mofo. |
