I feel that Tomasula is rotating bodies in the line, which is why they've been pretty successful. Here are the sack stats:
- P. Smith 4.5
- Kerrigan 3.5
- Ionnadis 3.5
- Allen 1.0
- McClain 1.0
- Galette 0.5
- Hood 0.5
- Swearinger 0.5

While it is nice to have that one feared defender, it is also nice to have every defender along the line to be involved in getting to the QB.

Agree with that. The edge rush will be crucial, whether Gallette or Preston or Kerrigan or Anderson.

I think the defense knows it. I think they also know they had about 3 or 4 sacks left on the field the last time they played Wentz. This time they'll play disciplined enough to contain him and wrap him up.

I really, really think we're going to kick their ass. Honestly. I think we're going to hit harder and want it more.

Agreed. Several Eagles' punts became Eagles' 1st down because of missed tackles, this is easy to fix and can make a huge difference.

I'm also watching Zach Brown closely on pass plays, dude can't continue to blow his assignments like that!

Are you thinking of the Agholor TD from week 1? Because Mason Foster blew that one, not Zach.

I've seen Foster make several dipshit mental lapses in coverage this year, but not Brown.

Yeah week 1 was Foster but since then Brown blew quite a few coverages, Cooley even roasted Zach about that in a breakdown.

Like on a play Swearinger called the play, Brown was responsible for the flat and was still super late, Dj turned to him like "WTF man I called the play for you" and then gave him a low five to make it look ok. (think it was against the Chiefs).

Going quickly through the All 22 version of the Chiefs game:

2nd & 8 with 51 seconds left in the 2nd quarter.
Looks like cover 3, Zach Brown is responsible for the hook to curl on the right side of the field, he tries to key the eyes of Smith and ends up in Spaight's zone while the back coming out of the backfield is in his zone.

Dunbar, responsible for the out reacts quickly and makes the tackle for a 1 yard gain, but to me it's just an example of "man c'mon don't read the eye of the QB to a point where you completely forget your zone, trust your teammates to do their job!".

Another play in the Chiefs game:

2nd & 6 with 14:37 left in the 3rd quarter.
Again, looks like cover 3 to me, but Foster is blitzing. So it leaves only 3 players to cover the short zones. Zach Brown has no teammates to his left and two receivers crossing what should be his zone. He stays between the hashmark, with Kerrigan right to his side (because it's his zone) so absolutely no one is covering the left half of the field. Breeland is playing off in the deep so Smith has a huge window to throw to Hill for ten yards.
Again, don't key the eye of the QB when you're responsible for a zone that 2 receivers are crossing!!!

Actually Schneed if you have the All 22 I'd be really interested to have your take on these plays, tell me if i'm wrong.

And later in the game, on a man coverage, to me he forgets he's responsible for the back.

I could be wrong, but Cooley said he made some coverage mistakes in a film breakdown, can't remember if it was the Chiefs or the Niners game.
And I do get the feeling Brown is excellent against the run but Foster is way more reliable than him in coverage.

edit: it was against the Niners that Cooley called out Brown, he said he blew 4 coverages in this game.

Cooley on Zach Brown today "he blows a coverage for a TD every game" ... He's mad at him, rightfully so IMO.

With the level of talent and speed he's displaying, he can cover, he just blows it and gives away some big plays each week... unacceptable.

I'm frustrated about him because he's still one of my favorite player on this team, these are flukes. But they keep happening.

I can't find the damn article anymore but it was out of Buffalo news; basically they let him walk because of what you and Cooley described. He tends to take plays off. Consistence is the issue.

I don't know how accurate I am on this, but if I'm coaching him I'm telling Zach "Man for now on, you are explicitly forbidden to look at the eyes of the QB.
Just read run/pass, you can adapt if it's run because you got a feel for it, but when it's pass, stick to your assignment".

Next Sunday is pretty much a must win for any playoff hopes. The injuries also really played a role last night.

I bet you Philly has some rocky weeks ahead of them.

What is frustrating and this goes back to the SF game as well; Philly came out very much not ready for the game last night and we didn't take advantage. If you go back to like 5 minutes left in the 2nd QTR we got the ball up 10 to 3; quick 3 and out. It was like 3rd and 1 and Reed runs .5 yard and doesn't get the 1st down. 14 Eagle pts later its halftime. Its just stupid shit like not converting simple 3rd downs or giving up long 3rd downs that fawks this team week in and week out.

Got to blame it on something because we all know it could not be the inept front office and Owner that ruins any chance of this team ever going anywhere. Im sick of every year the same old crap with this team. We don't have a running game,we lost both starting wideouts from last year,we are getting ready to lose Cousins after this year. Seems we are going backwards..

Don't think we talked about it, did you guys noticed Kirk Cousins faked a fumble on his second TD pass, the first one to Reed ?

He takes the snap and then crouches quickly like if he had fumbled, and it does freeze both the safety and the linebacker and opens a window to throw it to Reed.

I don't know if this is designed or improvised, but have you guys ever seen something like that?

Saw that too. If you watch it again the running back (Think it was Rob) runs up quickly as if he fumbled as well.

So I think it was designed, but who knows?
