Re: Should Mike Shanahan be fired?
Its from a direct conversation I had with Griff on Monday at the park before he left. I'm not going to put all of it out there but a lot of guys are not happy. The Banks stuff I was referring to was Griffin saying he ran the wrong route at the end of the game, nothing big.

Re: Should Mike Shanahan be fired?
totally agree...never should of made the team. As far as the smoking player, it is hard to just pick one, especially back when Gibbs & Zorn were here. The specific player I was talking about with that story was S.Hyer. Some how know all the smokers on the team past and present so plenty of defensive players as well. You might might of been thinking of the Defensive guy who use to sell to his teamates..
Ha! Interesting I hadn't thought it was Heyer. Like I said I hadn't heard that specific story, but I'd heard some crazy stories about Montgomery. So I guessed him. |

Mont is actually a great guess as well.. something similar did happen with him up at LLs house in Beacon Hill. Some of the funnier stories happened down in landsdown with the old crew on caradoc ct. Poker game when Gibbs called to cut Mike Rumph was pretty classic..wanna talk about smacked lol guy was gone. |

Nice spot indeed. He doesn't really post that often anyways, but Matty and the crew are pretty easy going. (that's a good thing) However, we do not take kind to spammers and canadians! *glares at a certain mod* |

Griff is just frustrated..Wants to throw more and option less. He understands what is going on but would like if the coaches trusted him more. Thats 5% of it but rest of the stuff I want to keep private. Tough to run the base offense because Steiger & Polumbus are getting blown up in the run game, makes it tough to work the PA boot game with no run threat. I'm sure it is stuff you guys have already discussed. |

Id imagine Garcon, Davis being injured are holding back the pass game alittle bit but Griff seems like one of those special talents that can make ordinary wr's look extra- ordinary ala Robinson in week one. Take the damn handcuffs off. We know he can run lets see him chuck it now. |

This must be a subtle shot at Shanny for not going 6-3 with Griff? Ties it all into the thread at least and doesnt seem so much like a random score update. Lol. |

Lol.
I was watching them play Jacksonville and it is a little disheartening that this is a team that had 1 bad year where they lost their once-in-a-franchise player and now seems to have bounced back pretty quick (seems being the operative word, I fully appreciate that Luck is only 9 games into his career). How long have we been rebuilding? |

Do you guys ever just watch a football game and enjoy it for what it is without comparing everything back to the Skins?? Just curious.

Look daddy, that kid has a new toy and enjoying it. I want one too!! This comes to mind when you said that. I don't think I've looked at many games yet and compared. Each situation is unique to say the least. |

I don't put myself through that torture. There's so many variables you can't just say well they're doing it so why can't we. I'm happy for Luck and the Colts. Their situation there with Pagano is very inspiring. |

Because they went #1 and #2 in the draft. So, it makes sense people are going to compare. Just sayin'..... |

Yeah I get that. People just taking it to the extreme though, as usual. We knew they were both going to be special. Is anyone surprised that Luck is playing well? |
Re: Should Mike Shanahan be fired?
No, its not surprising. What is surprising is that at the beginning of the year, 99.9% of people felt the team that Shanahan had built around RG3 for the past 2 years was superior to the talent Luck had in Indy. Now that has been proven false. Wonder how much of it actually has to do with arranging talent, than to actual coaching of your players, control, discipline and management during the games. Just really stinks we are still in neutral, even though the NFCE is ripe for the taking right now, or at least ripe for the not being in the damn cellar for the umpeenth straight year.

Not to overuse the injuries excuse but the Colts are still trotting all of their opening day starters out there on offense (with the exception of Donald Brown) to support Luck. Do you think Luck & the Colts would be as successful without Wayne, Fleener and whoever their starting RT is? I'm with Matty, can we not compare every situation out there to ours since each one is different? I'm kinda looking forward to this Sunday just putting it on the Red Zone channel and enjoying an afternoon of stress free football. |

Yes, and then I think about the Miami Dolphins, Titans, Saints, Rams, Seahawks, Bucs, Cadinals, Bengals and Raiders all having a better record than us, and I'm right back in the dumps again. So this season is injuries, ok. Got it. So next season, its gonna be the guys that got injured need a year or two to get back to 100%. Okay. Then what? |

Re: Should Mike Shanahan be fired?
Helu is done. Orakpo is done. Carriker is done. Fred Davis is done. Garcon's injury won't heal up quick enough for him to play anytime soon. Then there's the secondary problem. D. Hall, Josh Morgan, Madieu Williams, and Reed Doughty are all second string talent. Where Carriker has been replaced, Jarvis Jenkins doesn't resemble the player who crashed the entire offensive lines in the 2011 preseason. He's just a body on the defensive line taking up space.
Evan Royster showed flashes of greatness last season, but his 6.0 yard per carry average has decreased to 3.8 yards a run. Maybe he just needs more touches. Josh Morgan is okay, but given his contract, I expected more of him so I'll suggest he's under performing. Leonard Hankerson has been so-so. I can't overlook dropped TD passes in the end zone. Santana Moss has been Santana Moss. Logan Paulsen has surprised. He reminds me a little of Don Warren. |

It needs to be more effective than prayer alone. Self immolation, like the Tibetan Monks are doing again. I'll even send the gasoline, I know you guys back East are suffering in some areas. |

Honestly Matty - not pro football. Its great when we are still in the hunt and i have a vested interest in playoff positioning, division games, etc. I do love the sport for what it is dont get me wrong, but It becomes painful for me to watch in nov/ dec and not think about my Redskins. Im weak what can I say. |
