Should Mike Shanahan be fired?
Poll please.
It's pretty much a daily argument whether or not the Redskins were smart to hire Mike Shanahan to be head coach. This question has nothing to do with that. He is the Redskins coach. Should he be the coach after the bye week? After the season? I think I'm still in wait-and-see mode, but it's been a long time since I've been able to envision a future Redskins team winning under Mike Shanahan. At this point, it sure seems like the Redskins will just be playing out the string, particularly if the Giants hold on today. A word of warning/advice: obviously this loss seems worse today (Sunday) than it will in the middle of the week. It's totally reasonable to want to change your vote given some time to cool off. I think that's a given, actually. I generally (and specifically, in this case) do not support mid-season coach firings.

Re: Should Mike Shanahan be fired?
I did not expect someone like you to start this thread. I say no, let Shanny have his 5 years since he did say that it WILL take 5 years to complete the rebuilding.

Re: Should Mike Shanahan be fired?
I don't know if he should be fired, but I am sick of people b*tching about players only. I think this team is sorely lacking discipline and leadership. It falls on the coaches just as much it falls on the players.

Re: Should Mike Shanahan be fired?
Firing him during the season would be a complete disaster. I don't think Snyder would even dare go there.

Re: Should Mike Shanahan be fired?
Firing the coach doesn't fix players dropping passes. Stupid thread.

Re: Should Mike Shanahan be fired?
Yes but towards next season. We have a good offense but look at our situation and his history. His D been an outrage his fa this year and last was awful we have a cap issue.we have rg3 and im sure with the moneu we have we can hire a pretty good OC but we need a real vip FO GM to help us.
We wont make the playoff but id only kwep him because of the offebse so he beeds to sgow next year how to improve thia D much better. Ill wait i dont like shanny but the O is doing better. |

I know some people have been making stupid "fire x coach" comments/threads that are uncalled for. But how much does something fall on the players and how much does something fall on a coaches?

Re: Should Mike Shanahan be fired?
No.. what are you trying to prove/salvage? Who takes over? This isn't even worth discussing like it would be with Haslett.

Re: Should Mike Shanahan be fired?
Uh, if the receivers drop double digit passes - passes that were right in the hands/bread basket - then who the heck do you think should get the blame?
