I understood you. BA seems like a good dude, and it was encouraging to hear how he's changed the culture at Redskins Park for the better. I suspect we haven't seen his hand in personnel decisions much, which is disappointing. |
Great? I'm an Allen fan, but if he's done great, what superlatives are left for Thomas dimitroff or Martin Matthew? Stupendous?
I'll give you a stupendous on Dimitroff. He found a stud QB and quality coach in hs first year and has continued to obtain quality talent over the course of five years to build a consistent winner. Mayhew? eh. Jury's very much out on him. In his five year tenure (Hey, look at that, another five year term) his teams have are 20-47. They have had one winning season and appear to be taking a big step back this year. But to clarfy - I think Allen has done a very good job at acquiring talent, a great job in accumulating draft picks and a stupendous job at removing the Cerrato stank at Redskins Park. |
Re: Should Mike Shanahan be fired?
absolutely NOT. Shanahan has reshaped this roster with young talent in basically two years. THe offense is working very very well, and needless to say without our #1 receiver, that we all saw when healthy and on the field does make a difference. Our TE is down, but most importantly we have RGIII, and the Shanny's are doing a spectacular job of designing the offense to suit his strengths.
Total shame to show Shanahan the door at the end of the season. |

How so? |
Re: Should Mike Shanahan be fired?
I've decided the same, and there's a bit of irony. Mike stuck his nose up at JC and sniffed out three inferior QBs in McNabb, Rex and Beck instead.
Only one of those 3 were inferior to JC.(beck) The other two were upgrades over JC, which isn't saying much. The only time JC ever sniffed a playoff game was when he went down and a bum Todd Collins led the team into the wild card spot. That said, I still did not like the trade for McNabb and I wanted Mike to bring in competition at the QB spot until he could draft his own. |
Re: Should Mike Shanahan be fired?
Regardless of how many Redskins fans feel, this team is only a year away from prime time. The Redskins have pieces on both sides of the ball but they need to attain a little more in the draft, free agency, and by making trades. It's too bad that the pass defense became so anemic this season. The pass defense is the only thing that's been holding this team back. The offense has been doing their part. I'm not able to recognize if it's the coverage schemes that the defensive coaches are employing or if the problem is having the wrong personnel. Either way, something has to change either now or in the off season.

The pass rush seems anemic too - even when Rak and Carriker come back it seems it will be lacking in talent and depth. Than there is that punter we need. Plus do you think Moss will be back. Briscoe is gone obviously and we hope Garcon returns to normal. So wr COULD be a slight issue. Davis must come back and Paulsen is sort of solid. Depth at oline unless Gettis and Rib are anything remotely special. Oline depth has not been tested thank God but we dont know what we got there. Throw in the 3-4 secondary spots and im nnot sure im seeing a one year away scenario. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Why do we hate Campbell so much?? Sure he did nothing for us, but short of the top 5 elite qb's not one would have back then. Maybe I just like Campbell as a person too much...you could be right.
Two things I hated about Campbell. One was completely relevant to his game and one has nothing to do with football. Deer in the headlight wide eyes that rivaled Vinny when he was under pressure. Ugghh. Oh and for some reason I hate his mustache. Borderline Hitler like. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Should Mike Shanahan be fired?
Then again Rak and Carriker may come back and restore the pass rush. Why do we need a punter? Is he not going to heal from the injury?
Any reason to assume Garcon will not return to normal? Paulsen has proven to be a nice addition Any reason to think Fred will not be back? Depth at Olin may be an issue....then again That basically leaves D secondary..... |
