Re: 2010 NFL Free Agency Rumors and Reports (Week 2)
Cleveland's had a pretty good offseason so far. The Brodney Pool non-tender was bizarre, but not necessarily hurtful. The Ben Watson signing was strong. The Derek Anderson release was good, if kinda obvious. Pashos was a nice short-term pickup.
I can completely understand the notion that ultimately, Brady Quinn's value doesn't skyrocket in the west coast offense the way that say, Seneca Wallace's does. A 6th round pick seemed high, but whatever. Delhomme is just a bizarre target. He's Anderson, but 8 years older. And he suffers from the same accuracy problems that have slowed Quinn. Except in Delhomme's case, he's been around long enough so that we know that it's not a fluke. The Browns were never going to take a QB at no. 7, but it's hard to see Wallace/Delhomme as a marked improvement over Anderson/Quinn. There's no prospects here. They'll just have to turn to whatever developmental QB they take earlier than planned. |
Much higher of course, I'd imagine. It's not an excuse because everyone has to deal with off the field issues but Snead had serious personal issues this past season which I believe affected his performance on the field.
Yeah, from an intangible standpoint his record is sketchy. At Texas he couldn't beat out Colt McCoy (understandable considering how Colt turned out), but most recently at Ole Miss he decided to leave because his starting job was in trouble. I'd be interested in seeing what a coach like Shanahan thinks considering the theme for camp this year seems to be competition. Actually I'm kind of surprised that at this point the Redskins don't like Clausen. I figured that Shanahan would see a little of him in Clausen. |

Maybe Shanahan does like Clausen? |
Re: 2010 NFL Free Agency Rumors and Reports (Week 2)
That seems to me like the $64,000 question: what does Shanny think of Clausen?

i agree, and to follow on that, does shanny like clausen enough to take him at 4, assuming that bradford is taken earlier. |

While I think Quinn's trade value has dropped, I would have to believe within the Browns organization his stock remains relatively high. I just don't see how they don't bring Quinn back to camp and compete with two warmed over quarterbacks. |
Re: 2010 NFL Free Agency Rumors and Reports (Week 2)
Yeah I don't think his stock with Cleveland is high at all

I haven't heard of any interest in Clausen at all, but that doesn't mean they aren't just keeping it closely guarded |
Re: 2010 NFL Free Agency Rumors and Reports (Week 2)
Maybe I have been naive on this but I don't have a good feeling for Pineapple Je5us staying with us. It seems that a lot of QBs who have proven a lot more are available. And if you add that with the whole crop from college that is coming in, he may be in trouble.
He better have a perfect offseason. |

Ok thanks. I think I remember reading that when Shanny traded up for Cutler he had never even met with him before the draft. Not positive but i remember something to the effect of Shanny doing a great job masking his interest in Cutler. |

When is larry foote going to make a decision? I'm going crazy checking his status on NFL.com's free agent tracker...

He's going to meet with Pittsburgh tomorrow, but most likely will end up a cardinal. He really wants to play with Joey Porter as well, and Arizona may bring in Porter as well, I say since we really need Larry Foote IMO, and since we don't have Levi Jones anymore(he and porter got into a fight a few years back) we should sign porter to a one year deal and foote to a two year deal. Because right now our OLB situation is half set, and our ILB situation is half set. |

I have yet to see anything that we have indeed released Levi Jones. He's still listed on the active roster on Redskins.com. |

Jay Glazer (Jay_Glazer) on Twitter
Glazer reporting Quinn was traded to Denver for Hillis and two conditional draft picks. I guess either Simms is out or Mccrapniels wants someone hopefully better than Orton? |
Re: 2010 NFL Free Agency Rumors and Reports (Week 2)
RotoWorld Report...
Broncos acquired QB Brady Quinn from the Browns in exchange for FB Peyton Hillis and two conditional draft picks. While Quinn won't be guaranteed anything in Denver -- he'll have to beat out Tom Brandstater and Chris Simms just to threaten Kyle Orton |
Re: 2010 NFL Free Agency Rumors and Reports (Week 2)
Apparently the Lions got Shaun Hill today for a 7th rounder. I'm guessing Culpepper is heading somewhere else?

Poor Kamerion Wimbley. Can you imagine hearing the words, "You've been traded to Oakland"?

Wise choice by LT. Running behind one of the best O-lines in the league is a necessity for him at this stage of his career.

Yeah that's definitely true about Shanahan and Cutler. Shanahan hasn't shown any interest in CJ Spiller either so...I can still dream :) |

Agreed. Provided Leon Washington comes back 100% from that gross broken leg, they'll have a great running game with him, Shonn Green, and LT. |

I don't know, I could definitely see him going back to Pittsburgh |

Alright you bastards. You guys didn't like Clausen because he didn't have a pic with a hot chick well here you go. Clausen talking to his girlfriend after a game.

Ha ha, come on now 53. I doubt anyone here would put money down on her being ugly. Besides I have friends at ND that have seen her around campus with Jimmy, it's safe to say she's a dime. |

It's a picture of Jimmy Clausen not Tony Washington. Anyway I guess it's possible but I've been told that Jimmy's girlfriend is a blonde southern bell type. That picture seems to fit the bill. |

Silence is Golden!!!!! Could go either way though. Allen and Shanny might just have one helluva poker face, or they are not interested in a first round QB. |

Well she is at least hot. Those pics of all the young Qbs with the babes had me worried. Clausen was the only one that had a pic with the hogs. Stafford had Leinart beat out, which amazed me since Leinart was the darling of Tinseltown. |
