Re: Redskins v/s Eagles Predictions
It's weird having so many Sundays during these few weeks without Redskins football.

With how our team is playing, that might not be such a bad thing. :laughing- |

I find relief actually. Get alot done those days. |
Re: Redskins v/s Eagles Predictions
I have to say, EVERY quote I hear from the defensive players sounds like their heads are turned the wrong way. I know I am probably just bitter about how they have played, but when Rob Jackson says "“This guy’s[Nick Foles] just a pocket passer, so we can just pin our ears back and rush him and don’t have to worry too much about staying in our lanes and our dots and things like that,” or Barry Cofield saying "“You’re going against a guy who’s going to be at a lower level, not gonna be operating at the way you expect a quality quarterback." or just about any DHall quote from this week I end up thinking that this D is gonna get so fried this week it's not going to be fun at all.

No your right, I see it too. The flipside to this would be the New England players. Say their playing the 0-10 colts from last year, I don't remember hearing any of them saying "Oh curtis painter sucks" but I'm sure the players were thinking it instead their heads, its just that they told the media what they wanted to hear so they couldn't get a story out of it. |
Re: Redskins v/s Eagles Predictions
When I hear the players make statements I think 'PC'. There's no substance to them, unlike back in the '70's-'80's where they'd say inflammatory stuff knowing it would only get as far as the other locker room. Now it's all over YouTube, Twitter etc in a second and some FO tool is asking them to tone it down for the sake of the brand.
Just once a season I'd like to hear a foaming-at-the-mouth rant from a player who genuinely hates the Cowboys/Eagles/Giants talking about what they're going to do. Backing it up would be nice too. What the D says? Just air. Pay no mind, move along. |

And no one on our defense especially should be looking at any qb as other than the best qb in the whole frikkin world, because that's what they have been making them look like so far this year. |

It's weak sauce. "He's not a quality QB....." That's a dull slight. How about "Draft a QB like him, you get a free bowl of soup", a la AL Czervik*. Come on NFL, let us have our characters back! *Caddy Shack quote monster |

Looking ahead

Re: Redskins v/s Eagles Predictions
Why do these guys say crap that's going to fire up the other team? Seriously, the Gibbs approach was best. ("Boy, they're sure a good team. I don't know how we will compete. We will just do our best" Final score: Skins 42, Opponent 13). If I were Shanahan, I would tell the players to shut the hell up until they dominate an opponent.
Time to let play speak for itself (hopefully, in a good way). |

I agree C. Stop talking and start playing. Rookie QB's have been kicking our ass. They should look at him like Peyton Manning because that's how our defense usually makes them look. |
Re: Redskins v/s Eagles Predictions
i'm sure we'll make him, and the so far pedestrian looking group of WR's he'll be throwing to just fine... unless this bye week has gotten our act together? we're TOAST
|
Re: Redskins v/s Eagles Predictions
I just want a strong performance and of course the win. A win is a win is a win is a win!!! And we need one. The offense has regressed over our last three games and the defense continues to look like everyone is playing a brand new position. Get it the eff together...

Re: Redskins v/s Eagles Predictions
My Prediction: Whatever the final score is, we make Foles look good.
Hope Griffin and the offense tear it up. Get back to the success we had earlier this season. Would love to see Garcon at full speed turning Eagle CBs into toast this weekend. |
I think we knock him around and get a few picks off him.
Hope you're right. There was too much drama this week. Especially on defense, and I say that as someone who wants Haslett gone too even if he didn't get a fair shake here. Winning a game where the defense steps up big, would do wonders for this team.

LMAO!!! So true! So true! I feel sorry for younger Redskins fans who didn't see that happen live, back in the 80's with Gibbs' first run here. |

Media prediction are out ... Dan Hellie & I have almost the same exact score.

Re: Redskins v/s Eagles Predictions
From today's Rich Tandler's Real Redskins blog:
"We have noted the Redskins’ various losing streaks here over the past few days but here they are again: three straight losses overall, three against the Eagles, four after they bye, and eight when the other team starts a rookie quarterback. Let’s also note a few slumps the Redskins are in. They have lost nine out of their last 10 at home and they have not beaten an NFC East team not named the New York Giants since Oct. 3, 2010. That was Donovan McNabb’s return to Philly, which seems like it was 100 years ago. In reality it was 37 games ago. Mike Shanahan has repeatedly said that he is rebuilding the Redskins 'the right way' as opposed to doing a quick fix. But at some point, the rebuilding need to bear some fruit in the form of wins. That point has arrived." I strongly agree with Rich Tandler that it's time for the rebuilding to start producing wins. Furthermore, I think that this week, with two games against NFC East rivals, represents a crucial test for the Redskins. By the end of this week we should know what kind of team the Redskins can become under Mike Shanahan. |
