The three people happiest about this Manti situation are Mike Shanahan, Dr. Andrews, and Lance Armstrong. Having all this heat pulled off of them was definitely a gift from the media gods.

I dunno about Lance. He's coming off looking like a crazy man lately if you've been following.

Both these people have one very common thing going on...they are both narcissist egomanics. These guys love the attention and will do anything to keep in spotlight. With Lance it was to take PEDs and threatin people to stay on top, and with Manti it was to use a story to pump his own profile for the Heisman and draft stock.

These guys dont have any guilt, they are just pissed they got caught. Unfortunately, part of the problem is Jeremy Schap, continue to feed the ego.

Re: The Manti Te'o Dead Girlfriend Hoax Web of Lies

I swear the media is overblowing this, just like they did when his grandmother died and his fake GF. The guy lied, he looks like a fool but to me it's over and done with. This should not have any impact on where he's drafted. He might be a little bit of a self promoter but he'll get humbled the first day he get into an NFL camp.

Is this a kid you want to put into your locker room and tap as a future leader that can be trusted?

We don't know how deep this goes yet or how he'll handle it when he's grilled on it.

For all we know the guy could have some serious issues.[/quote]

Ok but you are speaking as a NFL team. I am saying as Joe Public who gives a crap about this.

Lance Armstrong lied/cheated a hell of lot worse then than this guy with multiply victims.

I trust him with football related stuff. What he does off the field would not concern me as long as he doesn't break the law. We're not talkng about Aqib Talib here or Pacman Jones. I'd take Te'o over either of those two. Some of the best players we've had were half crazy.

Did Lance Armstrong harm anyone? He lied about doping in an already dirty sport.

That's the angle I've been coming at this from the start... how this is going to potentially impact his draft status is what interests me the most.

Beyond that though I'm amazed you can't see why people are interested in the story. The web of lies, the question of how involved he was, were there others that were in on it as well, his motive behind it all if he was involved... there's still a lot of questions to be answered. I also still don't quite understand why you think a so called victimless situation should be considered harmless or uninteresting.

I doubt teams will gamble on a first round pick/money on this kid given this crazy situation. I am sure some teams probably don't want all the press/attention that this kid will get come draft time.

This is going to be a non-story by the time the draft rolls around. Even Bill Polian thought this wouldn't impact his draft status one bit. (even though he did say it was up the GMs/Management to investigate it)

As I pointed out, Cam Newton had a lot more red flags than this guy and was still drafted #1.

I think how he approaches pre-draft interviews will really impact his draft status. If he comes clean with teams, they will tend to trust him more, regardless of what's going on in the media. However, if he continues to spin dubious tales, his draft stock will drop like a stone.

Although I really don't care much about this story, unless things clear up, the media is going to drag this story into the draft. This is Notre Dame we're talking about, a team that has maintained its elite status and relevance through crappy years. People are not going to let this story go as long as it remains unclear what exactly happened.

Um....actually i dont think its embarrasing at all. He met her. Its not online dating thats embarrasing nc its when your dating a guy who u think is a girl, or when they dont exist at all that it gets a little sketchy. By Pandas own admission the real girl wasnt bad looking - he just didnt like that she lied. So i commend him for that. Was jst wondering who he thought was prettier - the fake girl or the real girl. If he said the real girl i would actually think the world of him because he is placing morals above looks. Which i gather to possibly be the case based on the fact that he said when he met her she was actually not bad looking. Stop trying to stir the pot.
Edit: even if he thought the fake girl was prettier i still commend him. He spent two days with her, but just couldnt get over the fact that she lied. So if she hadnt lied it sounds like there could have been something there. Not sure how you deduct me trying to humiliate Panda because of the fact that im interested in the details of his story but whatever.

GM: So, if you line up as a 3-4 ILB, you see the RB heading into the 1 gap and the QB starts back to pass, which one is imaginary, which one is real?

Te'o: Did I talk to the RB before the game, then definitely the RB!

Polian is a commentator and not a GM anymore, he is just another talking head on tv these days imo. The fact that he was so hard line on the fact that this in no way damaged Te'o's charector or pulled it into question was weird to me. Plus he was wearing Notre dame colors which I also thought was a little weird. Plus what the hell attacked him the night before? He looked all banged up

Notre Dame is just sad imo, they've really fallen far the way they've handled thangs as of late. Disappointing.

I hope he does fall out of the first round. Gay, straight, transgender, whatever, dude is a great linebacker and I'd love to see him fall to the end of the second round and let him replace Fletcher for the next decade.
