I believe in FA the Redskins are going with the plan of throw a bunch of shit on the wall and see what sticks come Sept.

Its a damn shame we cant develop any Oline, WR, or Secondary we drafted over the last 4 years. Certainly is problem with talent evaluation and coaching that talent. Thats why we have to sign garbage now.

I'm still blown over the Hankerson pick. What a waste. The guy can't catch, gets no YAC when he does catch and is constantly injured. I remember some douche canoe on this board was trying to get in my ass because I said Hank was average in college and would probably not transition well into the NFL.

Agreed, however, with a new coach everything's always up in the air. He likes big O-lineman and seems like he's revamping. That's why our coaching turnover over the past decade has crippled us -- every time we miss on a coach, we often change schemes and revamp the roster and ditch our drafted prospects.

For WR - I don't think developing WR has been the problem, it seems like more identifying good ones in the draft and drafting higher. Cerrato's 3 misses in the second round in 2008 was epic. But since 2008, we've only had Marko Mitchell in 7th (2009), Terrence Austin in 7th (2010), Hankerson in 3rd / N.Paul in 5th, and A.Rob in 6th (2011). Not many high drafted prospects that we're missing on developing..

Our secondary has a lot of B and C players. We have drafted these higher and could have developed more of these: Tryon 3rd, Horton 7th (2008), Kevin Barnes 3rd (2009), Dejon Gomes 5th, Brandyn Thompson (2011), Jordan Bernstein 7th (2012), Amerson 2nd, P.Thomas 4th, Rambo 6th (2013).

Hoping we get a good WR in draft this year, and that our scouting department is leaned on..

Kenny Britt visits today, super duper bonehead, but if they can get his head on straight he is borderline no 1. 1 year prove it deal, I'd still give him a shot.

"he is borderline no 1" based on what ? in 5 years he has started 30 games, his career high is 45 receptions.... in 2013 he had 11 receptions

You looked up his stats, so you know how much he has been injured or in trouble with the police or benched.

Britt is another Fred Davis. Plenty of talent, not enough brain power. There comes a point where its clear they wont ever change. I think both Davis and Britt have proven that they consider themselves above rules. Would rather look through the draft for someone than have him. If we sign him, he needs to have it written into his contract that he supplies the aspirin, because he will cause his fair share of headaches. Im personally getting sick of the distractions by people who cant be counted on.

Check out his 2011 game log. In the first two games of the year, he was on fire:

Kenny Britt Game By Game Stats and Performance - ESPN

We are talking an incentive based 1 year deal .. there is the upside. He is only 25, and if he pays off, he have him as our #2 with Andre Roberts in the slot..

Worth the gamble IMO.

On the principle of "One bad apple...," do we want to let Britt into our locker room even for just a second? I'm legitimately asking without subtext.

Do you suggest that we go the old route? Cause what has that won us in the past? I think they know that they don't have the team to compete for a SB. So they're plugging some holes with low risk deals. They're going about it the right way.

Free agency is meant to push a team over the top to compete for a SB. Not build a team. Too many people here still want that "gas up Redskin One BS" which doesn't produce a winning team. Watch, all the signings Denver is doing will not work. It never does and history proves that.

Denver is really not building there team through free agency, just adding final pieces to the puzzle. I think Denver will win it all this year. They are due.

He's definitely capable of being a star in this league. He put up 225 yards and 3 TDs in a game vs. the Eagles once...but it's his stupidity off the field that has limited his career.

I definitely wouldn't pay him much but he could be a huge play-maker for us if he stays on the field.

Denver has a lot of solid pieces, but it all comes down to Manning. Can he still play at the level he's been at when he's a year older? Can his body/ neck hold up an entire season at 38 years old?

Exactly. Where is Britt's production? He's never really had any. Dude is a bum who's addicted to handcuffs. No thanks.

Britt will probably want to go to Carolina, he has a better chance starting there than Washington. Carolina has no starters.

Look, Kenny Britt is a problem child, yes. But the guy can flat out ball, and put in the right situation with the right kind of people, I think he could put that past behind him, and focus on football. I definitely think we should give him a shot, maybe get him a counselor and someone who can kind of keep an eye on him, maybe mentor him up a bit, Santana maybe? Just throwing that out there. A squad first guy who is still playing hard for his team at his age? Britt can do nothing but learn from someone like that.

Give him a one year shot. Maybe we get lucky, and he puts up 60 receptions 7 td's. You never know. He has the talent.

Even if he did that, the next year he's a problem, wanting a long term high money deal, and still could be one dumb move away. This is supposed to be a very solid receiver draft, so let's get a young guy and move on.
