Per Ian Rapoport, the Saints are releasing safety Jairus Byrd.
https://twitter.com/RapSheet?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor
It's intriguing, but I rather get younger at free safety with a low-mid add in the draft. |
Re: NFL offseason 1.0 thread
Byrd = another high priced free agent bust.

Re: NFL offseason 1.0 thread
I may be reacting late to this, but I'm a bit amazed at the notion of teams possibly giving up a first round pick for J. Garoppolo. If I'm a QB-needy team, I'd rather take a gamble on Tyrod Taylor over Garoppolo. It's like teams didn't learn from Matt Cassell.

JG has more upside, bigger arm, more mobility, starter in college. Cassell didn't have any of those things. |

I wonder if Kyle will go get RG3 if he's released by the Browns.

lol . . . yup . . . and then he'll start RGIII over Cousins so Cousins can be pissed off all over again . . . would be very humorous anyway!!! |

There were three main things I wanted to happen this offseason. This was one. The other two are Kirk Cousins long term and resign Pierre. What are the chances I get the other two? |

Great! "Gruden is the first head coach to receive a contract extension under Redskins owner Dan Snyder, who purchased the team in 1999." ( Redskins' Gruden agrees to 2-year contract extension - NFL.com ) This offseason could very well be the best ever for this team ! |
Re: NFL offseason 1.0 thread
Would been nice to see the extension in place before the DC search but whatever.
Congratulations Jay, great coach. |

Clearly they're manipulating the cap. Ol' conflict-of-interest douchebag Mara needs to hit them with a penalty for violating the spirit of free agency. |

respect
Yup. Always respected him as a player even though he wore the star. I liked the way he went about his business, he was dominant but he let his play do the talking. Happy he got a ring, even gained some respect for him after I read about the troubles his wife and him had conceiving. |

I get the feeling that Elliot thinks he's invincible. He seems to go pretty hard off the field. It will eventually catch up with him. But hey, he didn't grab her by the pussy.
