I think you may be missing the point a bit. IMO he is saying there is no heriosm in infideity. Too often the infideitly in a celebratory is overlooked. Like saying wow how brave for him to come out, when we should be like shame on him.

It is hard to put into words.

It was brave for him to take that approach IMO. It definitely lended a ton of credibility to his perspective if nothing else. Sure, shame on him for cheating on his ex-wife, but he obviously has owned his issues and taken measures to correct them. I think it took a great deal of humility to relate to Tiger in this fashion for all to read. He didn't have to say anything at all. I don't believe I am missing the point.

His speech is infuriating because a) he assumes Jesus is the only path to forgiveness and redemption as a matter of fact, b) belittles Buddhism as somehow inferior religion without knowing anything about its teachings on the matter of forgiveness and redemptions, and c) Hume claims he isn't proselytizing.

Well I didn't really see it the same way.

a) Yeah that's what religions do. They don't allow for other religions. Anyone who is a Christian tacitly believes the same way as Brit. Anyone who is Buddhist believes similarly in the singularity of their ideas. If we all got worked up over what religions think of other religions the world would be in trouble. Oh wait everyone already does.

Tiger going into sex rehab is nothing but BS and a total front. He nailed what, 15 to 20 women over a period of time?? Maybe a few more? That's not very hard to do if you put effort into it. If whatever you are doing comes to point where it is interfering with your normal life you probably have formed an a addiction.

I would say if you are married and sleeping with multiplies of other partners you got an addiction. It be one thing if he was just banging one other girl but his shit was out of control.

i just dont agree with that. hes a golfer. he didnt commit any crimes. we do not have a right to demand to know about the intimate details of his sex life, no matter how sorted or adulterous they were. the guy cheated on his wife. its between him, his wife and family.

It's not about "owing" anyone anything. It's about managing an image. He's the most recognizable athlete maybe ever. He needed to step up and own it. A lot of people give a rats ass. I heard the best description of the entire thing I have heard...to date. A local sports guy lamented. Tiger owes NOBODY nothing, except his wife and family. In turn the sponsors and the public have the right of free will to decide to dump him or forgive him? After all what can you say about him.
1) He is a phenominal golfer
2) He is a phenominally poor husband
MORE reason NOT to rely on sports figures for either ours or our childrens idols.
