Re: Should Mike Shanahan be fired?
This is why I say Shanahan should not have been hired in the first place. He's not the right coach for this organization/fan base.
Truthfully, that's ANY fan base. They are all spastic erratic kids. (like Dan Snyder) |
Woot.. I wanna play, but I'll go the other direction..
Cleveland, Dallas, Carolina! This is fun.
Garrett has a winning record, Cleveland is never good and Carolina is just like us bad |
Re: Should Mike Shanahan be fired?
It's going to be a new system next year even if Shanahan survives.
The thing to avoid is having Kyle leave to take another position next year, changing systems, and then having to conclude what we already know about Mike in 2013, forcing another system change in 2014. Just accept the inevitable, and get the long term solution in here. One change, get it right.
Truer words.... |
Re: Should Mike Shanahan be fired?
Top 5 at their position:
Offense - RG3 - Morris - Trent Williams - Montgomery and or Chester, who's been almost totally solid this season - Moss as a slot WR Defense (current scheme) - London (he needs some scheme help in that he shouldn't ever be covering 1 on 1 on the edges, but London is still a monster in middle run stopper and actually has great ball skills as a zone cover guy in the middle) - Kerrigan - Bowen Defense as it should be, in a 4-3 scheme, would add another top 5 in that Cofield will make an excellent d tackle.
 :laughing2  :laughing- :yeahright |
Re: Should Mike Shanahan be fired?
People thought that with Parcells too.
And it was the truth. I believe Parcells had a 13-3 season, no? |

I think it holds especially true for this fan base |

Dallas hasn't won a playoff game in longer sessions then us.. You can't throw teams up for a positive and not expect the same negative reaction. You cannot compare one team to another. Coaches go from one team to another and be successful, and sometimes don't. It's not a fair analogy to assume if we dump Shanny and pick up all these available winning coaches on the market that we will win a SB. I'm not a Shanny lover, but he said 5 years and i'll give him his 5 years. |

I always see Goat post "facts" and then get corrected. LOL.

Re: Should Mike Shanahan be fired?
I can't believe people are asking for Shanny's pink slip already. Look at the Browns. Have they made bad decisions to led to their streak of sub-mediocrity? Sure. But what else is going against them? Any time they get a coach, they get fired and start from scratch with a new scheme. Look at the best teams consistently in the league. They build from the ground up, with a consistent focus and scheme that doesn't change from year to year. Everyone is always looking for the next "great coach" when things don't work out in the short term. Well who is to say the next hire will be any more competent than the one that was just fired? And all you have accomplished by doing that if they new hire is not successful is blowing up any continuity the team had.
This team has been bad for a long time, with a ton of terrible personnel decisions by Cerrato. We aren't going to turn things around with a snap of the fingers folks. Shanahan has a winning pedigree, he just needs time to get the building blocks in place. Our defense is atrocious this year. That will obviously be addressed this off season. We have had a lot of injuries and have not had the depth to replace them, again due to poor personnel decisions of the past leaving huge holes in our roster. Everyone needs to chill the heck out and pull for the team to get pulled together, not pulled apart. |

Geez oh man Phillips took over a team loaded with talent. The last time a coach walked into that kind of situation was...holy sh!t Mike Shanahan in Denver?! Mike is a better coach than Wade. Makes me feel lucky we have him lmao Did you see Parcells went 10-6 in his first year, and Dallas was 5-11 the year before? |
Parcells led the cowboys to the playoffs with Quincy Carter at qb

Re: Should Mike Shanahan be fired?
I am so disgusted and disappointed that at this point, I couldn't tell you if I'd be opposed or happy to see Mike Shanahan go. I understand both arguments for and against. I'm just at this point where I'm tired of the bad luck, bad choices in coaching, bad choices in players. At some point you'd think things would change.
