Re: Redskins Free Agent Re-Signings
Riley deal will be in the mid to high teens-4-5 year deal...6-8 guarenteed
|
Re: Redskins Free Agent Re-Signings
I wouldn't giving him a 5 year 20 mil deal with 6 mil guaranteed, but he's probably thinking he'll get way more on the open market.
I would argue that the secondary is the single biggest need on the team.
Agreed, the secondary is the worst part of this team. We're not in terrible shape at CB with Hall and Amerson, but they need help behind them from safeties. We've had a Top-10 offense the last 2 years, even with a one-legged QB last year, so the O-line isn't our greatest need despite its holes. Of course, we are changing schemes from the smaller, faster zone blocking OL under Shanahan to a bigger, more traditional line under Gruden, so the changes will happen regardless of need, because of scheme. Bottom line, we need to hit both areas, as well as LB, DL, WR and special teams. We have the money and we will. |
Re: Redskins Free Agent Re-Signings
I would have no problem with that deal. If it is 5, he likely plays 3 under it. If the cap expands as expected, it will be a very moderate deal by year 3/4.
Given their current salary crap status, I would be front loading the crap out of most contracts. Maybe I am just not understanding things. |
Re: Redskins Free Agent Re-Signings
riley is basing his demands on a terrible wtf contract miami gave out, which is just a bad basis of comparison.
I'd be okay with him walking in that I don't really think he's anything special. there's jack all available to fill the ILB/MLB spots in FA this year though, which really sucks for us. |

Re: Redskins Free Agent Re-Signings
I like the Woodyard guy from Denver. Now that they did not DQ, my gues is they will make a push to sign him.

Re: Redskins Free Agent Re-Signings
Woodyard would be a great signing.

Real good news on Riley, welcome back! |
Re: Redskins Free Agent Re-Signings
I hope this is correct info that we sign Riley . We didn't need 2 new ILB to learn the scheme.

K. Robinson better of been taking mental reps on the sideline. |

Re: Redskins Free Agent Re-Signings
We will see, Keenan Robinson would be a great addition to our special teams. I don't think we need to go into the season with Riley and Robinson as the starters unless Robinson beats out a quality FA signee.
Hell if he can cover a TE play him. We need an ILB who can cover. |
