Re: The RG3 Sucks - Knee Jerk Reaction Thread
Good point. I dont think its anything other than he simply doesnt transfer what he learns into game situations. He certainly isnt the first and certainly wont be the last.
Its just amplified with us because we were in search of a franchise qb forever, and he was a high pick that we gave up a kings ransom for. If Brady hadnt worked out for the Pats because he couldnt "get it" nobody would have cared. Same can be said for countless others. Even Heath Shuler wasnt as big of a story because we werent so far removed from success. The Skins drafting RG-3 was the epitome of the "all in for the savior of a down and out franchise".
That and it's never been easier to be an NFL QB and no one, even high draft picks, get years and years to prove themselves. His last 16 starts haven't been very good and it seems he's getting worse. |
I highly, highly recommend that everyone on The Warpath read this. It should be required reading before anyone is allowed to comment on RG3.
This shows to me that we do not have a student of the game on our hands. RG3 loves to talk about believing in yourself, and working hard, and the drive to get better, and he loves his inspirational quotes. And by all accounts he is working hard. Everyone at Redskins Park says so. But you don't see the ability to process what he's seeing on the field and read it. He's just not doing it. The Shanahans scaled down their offense to make it work for Robert, simplifying the reads so he could adapt as a rookie. He's had injuries which hurts the mental aspect, but as Cooley aptly points out, he's missing BASIC stuff. Like day one of training camp basics. Given that he's working hard, and given that he's still missing simple reads, I'm left to question whether he is mentally sharp enough to process the reads on the field quickly enough. It's either that or he's really afraid of getting hit, so much so that he's too frazzled to make the right decisions. Either way, he needs to get better quickly or I would never resign him past his rookie contract.
Any chance he got concussed on the pick 6? Looked like he went helmet to helmet trying to tackle the defender at the goal line. |
The RG3 Sucks - Knee Jerk Reaction Thread
...are you sure the guy is healthy ,I'm sure that is weighing on his mind .
Looks healthy to me. No limp. No brace. Not seeing the field has nothing to do with any part of your leg at all as a matter of fact. Last year when he was obviously not physically ready - well shit that was an easy pill to swallow compared to this crap. |

I get you. No need to say more. Traits like character, judgement, quality in an individual are important to some people and not to others. I know where you stand on that....... |

Put Cousins in, at least I get to laugh at his horror faces when the defense collides.

KC has his issues. However, the easy routine plays that Griffin missed, KC hits those in his sleep. |
How those rape allegations going?
There's a big difference between "allegations" and the truth. The evidence suggests no crime was committed and the accuser flat out lied about several things. |
Cooley's piece was really good. But when I read that part, I wasn't sure he had a good bead on it.
Griff definitely is unsure of himself, holding the ball way too long. I'm thinking if he feared the contact though, he'd be letting the ball fly much earlier, not holding it longer....he'd also bail the pocket much faster, not stand there like a statue. IDK for sure...just hope the light goes on for the kid before too long. Hail!
Freezing is a much more common reaction to fear than trying to place oneself out of danger. |
Re: The RG3 Sucks - Knee Jerk Reaction Thread
I wouldn't be surprised at all if he's still a little shell shocked.
It's obvious he is. There is no other doubt that the guy who played in 2012 is in there somewhere because he was making these reads in 2013 as well. Maybe it's as simple as... It's only been 12Q in this offense. Jay even said he looks good in practice.. I'm not sure what is holding him back during the games. |

Because I clearly said that, so if someone is found innocent or charges arent filed they still are guilty and condemned in the public eye, good to know. I know where you stand on that. |

Where did you read that? A deadspin article? Jay never said that. |

Jay never said that.
I read that in several threads on the Warpath through knowledge provided by our own generous SS. |

How can you say this, and that Gruden has done nothing? It seems u r in the camp that he did not have a choice to start his qb. That means something when it comes to wins and losses. |
