The rumor was old news.

The fact was just confirmed this afternoon.

All of us always want news stories to be posted with links and other citing points. It turns out that the hearsay was based in truth. I personally think it's relevent.

Relevent also is the credibility of the front office. Just because they refute a story doesn't mean it's not true. I'm personally fine with that but that means I also won't entirely believe the press releases they come out with in the future.

His numbers dont lie. That is why the Broncos did not want him. His win loss record sucks.

Shannahan is not the answer.

What about Chris Polian?

I would be alot more excited about him. If he's anything like his dad, hell yes. He could be one of the rising young stars I was talking about. I think he stays in Indy though. He's expected to take over for his dad in 3-4 years.

What are you talking about? What do we know now that we didn't know two weeks ago?

Im syre the chance to show what he's got here with this dud of a team is tempting. Plus i'm sure the money wouldn't be bad.

Please no Shanahan. Let the Cowboys have him.
Ok let's role play and pretend to be Dan Snyder.

Scary thing is I'm sure a lot of us could do a better job at being Dan Snyder than Dan Snyder can, so here goes.

If I'm Snyder, the day the season ends Zorn is gone. Here's my termination discussion with him, Jimmy I'm sorry things didn't work out. I have to apologize for putting you in a tough situation for a first time head coach. You were in over your head and that was my fault. I wish you the best, but we have to move in another direction.

The second thing I'm doing is calling up Vinny and saying, sorry pal but our way clearly isn't working. We've tried big name coaches, big name players, now it's time to try a big time GM. See you on the racquetball court.

Now, the third thing I do is dial up Bill Polian in Indy. I'm saying Bill, I've got a blank check here with your name on it. I will make you the highest paid GM in the history of sports. I'm giving you 100% autonomy and control to build and run this franchise. Build me a winner. If he turns me down I'm saying, is your son there... can I talk with him?
Hmm role playing to be Dan Snyder, meaning acting like Dan Snyder? Let's see now:

1. Rehire Norv Turner(only man who would want the job badly)
2. Sign Cerrato to a new 6 year deal
3. Trade our 2011 and 2012 #1 draft picks for Colt McCoy
4. Give Clinton Portis a 4 year contract extension
5. Sign Gus Frerotte as backup(Gives fans some nostalgia for happier times)

It's remarkable how you can fit Gus Frerotte into almost every post of yours :)

Yeah, if the Broncos parted with him he was expendable. WE go the route we did with coach Gibbss and with Norv Turner. Turner is too mild mannered to be a really successful HC, but he is a decent Xs and Os guy. My point is get one of the OCs or DCs that are ready to get their feet wet with being a HC. It is of course a 50/50 pass/fail porpsitiion, but if it works and you surround the guy with a good FO staff you have a long term coach who can actually build something, as he is motivated to prove himself. I don't see Gruden or Cowher coming to DC. Gruden is doing really well with MNF, and he might just like it better in the booth than on the sidelines. Same for Cowher.

Gus wasn't the best for sure, but personally he was fun to watch and sort of a nice story. He was from a small school and drafted more for depth , but ended up the starter, as Heath bombed. The Skins never made the playoffs with him, but they were a lot more competitive than the crap we have been seeing the last few seasons. I rather have the '95 or '96 squad back than this bunch of bums! Also, Gus did show more fire than JC ever has.

Re: You're Dan Snyder, what's your move?

If I am snyder. I fire Zorn during the bye week, I also fire Vinny and Scott Campbell. I promote jerry grey for the rest of the season, and focus the rest of the year on my GM search. My main targets: Kevin Abrams, Ron Hughes, Tom Heckert, Mike Lombardi, Doug Whaley, and Marty Hurney, among others. Then I write a formal appology letter to the fans, then provide the skins with mission statement. One I've hired my Gm I give him total atonomy. I cut ties with all the players I developed personal relationships with and focus on the fan expierence at Fed ex.
