Re: Should Mike Shanahan be fired?
One week, one month, three years, it's all selective endpoints anyway.
I believe the team was awful today. I also think this is the first time all season tebteam has looked completely flat from start to finish. So I'm not going to slit my wrists over it. But what do I know. I'm just a kool-aid drinking apologist |
Re: Should Mike Shanahan be fired?
Some of you farm animals apparently didn't watch the games against Atlanta, Minnesota, and the Giants. Acting like the whole team has been flat for a month.
Moo! Aside from Griffin and Morris highlights, those games haven't inspired much confidence either. We lost all those games (except for a miracle run by RGIII vs Minn.) for many reasons.
(I think firing Shanny before 5 years would be stupid, too.) |
So now a 3-3 team is better than when Shanahan was coaching in Denver?....lol That's simply hating just for the sake of hating. Yeah, we should have brought in Jeff Fischer, who's currently got the same record as Mike. (3-5)
It was a fluke. 3 passes. 2 of those passes were over 50 yard YAC. Look at the game and the stats and come back and tell me exactly how amazing Tebow was. Which is why he got curb stomped by New England.....AND he got traded that following off-season. You really aren't helping your case here.
Tim Tebow stunk was my point. The fact they were able to make the playoffs and than beat Pitt with Tebow was a credit to the rest of the team! It completely helps my argument. Edit: Tim frikkin Tebow was not meant in a complimentary fashion. Lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The problem is the bigger picture. We're probably going to look awful three more times the rest of the year. We're probably going to be competitive in five or six more games. We'll probably even win three of them. But some people are going to see progress out of that where there is no progress. |
Re: Should Mike Shanahan be fired?
Okay, I'll say it without pulling punches. You'd have to be some kind of moron to give Shanahan five full years.
|
Re: Should Mike Shanahan be fired?
Then I'm a moron because I give him give full years.
|
Re: Should Mike Shanahan be fired?
Okay then.

Completely flat from start to finish. |

Two years is a long time. At this point next year were 3-5 are you sticking to that? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Should Mike Shanahan be fired?
This is the other part of my problem. He's only been here 3 years and with a franchise that is/was in rebuilding mode. The last coach that coached here for over 3 years was NORV TURNER and they fired him in 2000. All other coaches have been here for 3 years or less.
To me that's a glaring consistency problem. Except Zorn. He needed to go.
Gibbs was here 4 years. |
Re: Should Mike Shanahan be fired?
If he doesn't mKe some Assistant coaching changes pronto, then yes.
Two years is a long time. At this point next year were 3-5 are you sticking to that?
Well, if anyone has remained hardheaded that long, they're probably just going to stick it out.

Re: Should Mike Shanahan be fired?
I think this is an optimistic way to view it. The team is significantly younger and has some talent. But we need to get an architect in here at some point.
Could an architect and Shanahan co-exist? Stranger things have happened.
It would be VERY strange GTripp. Mike is pretty much known as a control freak. My biggest problem with him is that his defenses pretty much suck and if he would leave that side of the team alone (including hiring the DC) he would be more successful. I do think he has a lot to offer on the offense. But....would he ever be willing to do that? |
