Bravo to the #Redskins. Get your franchise QB. Let the @ddockett laugh all he wants. He has as many Super Bowl wins as I do.

Darnell Dockett trashed us btw
Wow thought he would have been bashing the trade, since him and lavar like to do that a lot.

This is how I am going to choose to look at it.

I'm so excited; in the same way as when you buy a really expensive item. You want it, you need it, but you know you payed too much. HTTR

A backfield filled with RGIII and Roy Helu is a damn powder-keg of speed ready to break a big play at any time.

Fastest QB/RB combo in the league (at least tied with Vick/McCoy).

Matter of fact.. they could start implementing some of those quick-draws those Eagles run with their guys instantaneously.
Yes, because that has been the formula for winning the Super Bowl over the last 12 years. Everyone knows a fast QB and fast RB equal Championship.

Dealy combo. Plus Hightower and Royster. SOLID backfield. SOLID QB. After a decade plus of despair...some HOPE.

We must sign Vincent Jackson this year and add a first round talent free agent in 2013 and 2014. It's likely will have the cap room to continue to add quality players. I hate losing this year's second more than the other firsts.

Wow... really?? What a douche comment to make.

I was simply pointing out a positive of the situation that WILL BE.

All of you guys who want to bitch and moan about 2013 & 2014 1st round picks all you want... That's called "Crying over spilled milk."

Ever heard of that? It's what 2 year olds do... cry over things that they can't change.

This is our situation now... find something positive in it or walk away... damn.

The Cardinals haven't even been a relevant threat since 2008. They have their own problems. Dockett obviously hasn't heard of that whole glass house metaphor.
Yep, its Chicagos fault they don't spend money on WR's or OL for jay. thats one problem we don't have.
Their OL has been trash, but Cutler is also never going to be the player he was in 2008. He's somewhere between the 10th and 25th best player in the league at his position.

If Griffin's that, we lose this trade, and he probably doesn't get a second contract here.

Re: Redskins agree to trade for No.2 overall pick in 2012 Draft

The redskins should throw all of their focus and money towards vincent jackson.

Then pick up: Chris Myers or Ben Grubbs or both at c/g
And attempt to pick up a decent rt- possibly gaithers or Levi brown.

And pick up Brandon Carr at corner. And finally go after a middle lb: either Tolluch or lofton.
Forget about "importance" of first round picks and consider reality. We swapped 1st round picks this year and gave up two more in the future plus a second. Only about 50% of 1st round picks work out and it drops from there. Just playing the odds, only two of the 4 picks we gave up would likely have worked out.

It was a steep price to pay, but IF Griffin works out, it's well worth it. If we win the next few years, those future picks will be even less valuable. IF griffin works out, who cares what we gave up?
That is what scares the crap out of me...to trade multiple first rounders away, you need to come up with a multiple pro bowl player in an impact position, not the hope of one.

Sorry so many emotions going on right now. Lost my smartphone tonight, got to go to work tomorrow but this is great news.

It's just great to see we'll finally be getting a QB, and one hell of a QB at that. Sorry but Landry, Orakpo, Kerrigan, and Davis are worth one potential franchise QB.

Guys with RGIII's experience, tools, and intangibles don't usually bust, nor come around often so I think it's safe to say that we'll end up with a good if not great one on our hands. Either way our running game is going to be improved and we will cut down on turnovers with this trade. Thats an improvement right there.

Might take a year or two but the NFC East better watch out.

Ovechkin is quietly making himself irrelevant, or at least relatively so compared to the others.
Andrew Luck aside, I haven't given a player this high a grade since either Matt Leinart or Brady Quinn.

Given proper context, I have no idea what I'm trying to say here. Don't draft a top QB with an embattled coach, maybe? No, that's probably not it.

RG3 does seem to be starting with a lot more talent here than Luck has in Indy though. Maybe more talent than Tannehill too, if Tannehill gets stuck in Cleveland or Seattle.

Miami's in the catbird seat now though. They pretty much get us out of the way, don't have to worry all that much about the Browns, and can pick Tannehill/Osweiler/Foles/Weeden or whoever at no. 9 if they wish.

3 high draft picks for one guy? What an overpay! When do we ever get on the right side of trades? Never. I like RG3 a lot but not at this price. This team simply isn't in a position to throw away high draft picks.

We got on the right side of a trade in 2008. The Falcons gave us two 2nd round picks and we ended up with three pass catchers. Look supporting parts are great but without a QB they're just luxuries. Look at any successful team, the QB is the true foundation. Other parts can easily be replaced but almost every move is made around the QB, at least when you have a good one.
