Guy had a troubled life, the lack of having a father around is really hard on some. I speak from experience, what he did wasn't at all right and he deserved to be in prison but it's still a sad situation. I feel for his kid the most.

Going off memory here but i think his dad died later in Aaron's life. https://www.si.com/longform/2016/aaron-hernandez-brother-dj-hernandez/ His bother under the exact same circumstances has done well for himself. |
Re: NFL offseason 1.0 thread
Aaron Hernandez was a star athlete who lead an extremely privileged life. We need to remember, these athletes are overly privileged and 99% of the time doesn't deserve it. He had everything.
But inside he was a coward and like most cowards, he took on a fake-thug persona. 99% of folks who take on this persona are cowards, not men. Hernandez deserves what he got. Life has a funny way of working its way out. |

Its either that or some twisted mental illness. It sucks Aaron father passed, but the rest of the family must have let him really wonder off. Seems like his family was great from the 30 for 30. Feel terrible for his child. His wife was trash though...straight garbage. |

I feel sorrier for the guy he killed in premeditated fashion and his family, to be honest. And the kids - none of whom deserve to be associated with any of this.

Re: NFL offseason 1.0 thread
Political bias aside, I'd like to think MSN shares credible news from time to time, which is why I'm surprised to see them promoting this story that A-a-ron had a prison boyfriend. But then again Newsweek also has this story that A-a-ron's prison boyfriend is now on suicide watch as a result of his death, which "multiple law enforcement sources" have confirmed.

How many backup NT can we have? Lol. If he's better than what we've got then why not? I think they like they guys they've been developing. Phil Taylor has a lot of upside if he's healthy. So, I have a feeling we've got what we've got. |
Re: NFL offseason 1.0 thread
Of all NT released recently, I'd say Roy Miller is the best option. He was pretty consistent and a fan favorite, but he tore his Achilles last year. He probably hasn't recovered fully though. If his rehab seems to be going well l, he might be better than what we have.

him or Jaye Howard. I think we should bring someone else in for camp purposes at NT. |

Just seems very iffy.
Agreed. We haven't had a lot of success with injured veteran free agent signings. It's not as if there are many other options though. You have to hope that they won't go into camp with him if he isn't "full strength." Not If they can bring in another guy to compete. |

Claimed off waivers by the Rams. Jaye Howard visited the bears today and left without a contract....and he passed the physical. When he passed, Chicago offered him a contract. Per pft |

I mean when folks say the cliché of "its a copy cat league"...it happens in the coverage too. Does Jay get this job if Romo doesn't go to the booth? Trends 1. wildcat offense 2 Read-Option 3 Overrated QBs retiring early to the announcing booth?????!!!!!!! |
Re: NFL offseason 1.0 thread
Romo at least has some personality and doesn't walk around looking like someone just farted in his face like Cutler

Re: NFL offseason 1.0 thread
The Cowboys will give Jonathan Cooper the first crack to win their left guard vacancy.
Traded by the Cardinals, then cut by the Patriots and Browns, Cooper is on his fourth team in the last calendar year. Suddenly being thrust into a starting job is a big ask. Left guard is the weakest position on Dallas' offense. The Cowboys plan to use La'El Collins at right tackle this season. Collins was a left guard in his first two NFL seasons, but he played tackle at LSU and is needed there following Doug Free's retirement. The Cowboys don't trust 2015 third-round pick Chaz Green to man the position full time. Of course, left guard is now a concern after Ronald Leary left in free agency. There's a good chance Dallas' offensive line won't be quite as dominant this year. Ron Leary gone and D Free retiring....Folks, don't expect the Cowboys Oline to match last couple season success. Ron Leary was awesome...his loss is major. |

Did the Redskins give numbers out to the draft picks yet? because if so I can't find it thanks.

Re: NFL offseason 1.0 thread
Well, they still have some serious studs along the line. Dallas's line gets praised b/c it is damn good most of the time and has been that way for two or three years. Collins, Martin, Frederick and Smith are all, at least, better than average at their positions. Yes, Collins is sliding out to right tackle, and there may be a bit of a step down. However, I am betting that he ends up better than Free in the long run. Silverback is the best left tackle in the game. T. Smith is a not-too-distant second.
Until they actually demonstrate that they aren't as good as they have been, they will continue to be lauded. |
