Yet more negative attention and someone out right discouraging proven HC's from taking the Skins job. I know, I know...it's SI but still people will read and make their own decisions based off of what they see and read. Namely those HC's we have been looking into.

I don't mind fans on the board talking bad about the Skins but it kind of pisses me off to hear non-fans do it. It's kind of like family. I can bitch about family to family but i don't want to hear someone outside of my family talk about them. That really didn't come out right, but get the point.

Not that the article doesn't have truth to it, I just think it's a little overboard. It fails to mention LF, Marcus Washington, Moss, Portis, Samuels, Cooley, Gregg Williams, Marvin Lewis, and others that have had a bit of success.

I hope Snyder does the right thing and i don't know why but I think he will and we'll have a new GM next year.

Call Bill Parcells and pray that you can get him to come to Washington. I doubt that he would, but we need somebody like him.

Sure, it would be great if Snyder hired Bill Polian, or Polian's son, or any of about 10 solid, competent people, and gave them complete authority to remake the team, free of interference from ownership.

But after 10 years, does anyone think that Snyder's capable of staying out of the way? He won't. He won't. Get used to it -- until he's gone, the Redskins will not experience sustained success.

I guess hiring Eric DeCosta as our GM would be a good move. DeCosta started his NFL career as an intern with the Redskins in 1995 (pre-Snyder) so why not bring him to were he started.

I think a 4 or 5 win season would be real slap in the face for him. And with everyone in his ear right now saying you've got to get rid of Vinny and get a real football guy in here, I honestly think he might finally realize it's time for him to step completely out of the way and let someone else run things.

I think so too. I'd give it about a 85% chance VC is gone. FWIW.

I emailed Michael Lombardi would he consider the position and this was his response to me:

"I am not sure I would tell the owner what he wanted to hear...thanks for thinking of me"

Funny, not sure if hiring a top quality GM in DC will be as easy as we think. The owner may be just too frustrating to work with.

i think he has to be somewhat humble at this point. He's tried and failed to build a winner- he will realize that he has to fire Vinny and hire a legit GM with reasonable autonomy. I hope anyway.
