Re: Shanahan presser thread
Seems like everything went wrong because of Vinny. Now that he's gone the team could potentially interview Gregg's son Blake (ironically an offensive guy) for a position with the team. I wonder if Vinny was the one who tried to sue the season ticket holders.
Redskins interested in Gregg Williams' son Redskins owner Daniel Snyder fired defensive coordinator Gregg Williams after the 2007 season, ending Williams's successful four-year tenure with the team. Now, it appears that a member of Williams's family could join the first staff of new Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan. Shanahan is interested in interviewing Blake Williams, Gregg's son, for a position, two league sources said recently. Williams, who holds a degree from Princeton, currently is an offensive coaching assistant for the New Orleans Saints, for whom his father is the defensive coordinator. Blake assists the Saints' offensive coaches "in all aspects of game preparation, including film breakdown, player and unit scouting reports, the creation of playbooks and during practice," according to the team's website. He served as a coaching intern with the Redskins during the 2006-07 season and last season worked as a defensive assistant under his father with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Obviously, with the Saints seeded first in the NFC playoffs, they're a little busy right now, and the Redskins would have to seek permission to interview Blake. But Shanahan apparently has been interested in Blake for quite some time, and he plans to move aggressively to complete his staff, the sources said. -- Jason Reid |
Re: Shanahan presser thread
Nice Dirtbag, I had no idea about GW's son. If he's part of the Saints offense it can't be bad.

Say what? At least that was a reasoned statement about Snyder. |

Sorry, firstdown, but this statement errs in many ways. |
Re: Shanahan presser thread
I love how much emphasis Shanahan put on revamping the scouting department, both for college and for the pros...hopefully we wont have any more disasters like Lloyd, Archuleta, JT etc.

The only err in my statement is that Snyder used his own money. |
Re: Shanahan presser thread
You know in JC response to CP he spoke as if he was going to be here next year so maybe he is.

Re: Shanahan presser thread
If you watch Mark Schlereth on NFL Live on ESPN today, you will hear him say that in his time off Shanny reflected about his personnel mistakes and vowed to value the inputs of others more in the future when it comes to roster decisions.
For what it is worth. |

For what it is worth.
I heard that to. That combined with Shannahan's declaration that he would never use his "ultimate authority" and heavily rely on the input of Bruce and other scouts had me smiling from ear to ear. Damn it feels good to be a gangsta...er I mean Redskin fan. |
Re: Shanahan presser thread
Again considering how we lost many of our games, I don't think a six/five game swing is unrealistic. That's just me. Many of the games we lost, we weren't outplayed. I think we all can agree on that.
im agree , we lost 6 or 7 games last year by 6 points or less, with a good swift kick in the ass i think 10 wins is not out of the question, shanahan also said rebuilding is not what we are gonna do, i would be happy if we beat Dallas twice myself |

I think in many ways, that accomplishment alone would define a very successful season lol |
