what's the deal with whitehurst anyways?

what'd I miss about him?

I think Jarmon will eventually replace Daniels at DE. Hopefully he worked with phillip on power lifting to gain some size.

That would be my favorite scenario. Reports have the opposite, though: that he is slimming down to play LB.

Very strong arm and a great build. Basically a lot of the physical tools you look for. I should know, I played with him in high school. From what I remember he was a quiet guy, with a very athletic family. He played reciever his senior year during homecoming after coming back from a broken finger then got moved back to QB the next week. His backup Ryan Busing ended up going to Miami of Ohio with his twin brother John (who eventually made it as a safety in the NFL). I'm sure teams would totally jump on the chance to play him at wide reciever :D

His Dad also played QB for the Packers in the 80's so he has some solid bloodlines.

Is there any news linking the Skins to Leonard Little or Greg Ellis? I really feel we will need some quality depth for the 3-4 DEnds. The starter we are proposing to be there will not last the whole season without a rotation...

Well if the Rams take Bradford and the Lions take Okung, that would leave either McCoy or Suh for us. Either would be great as a 3-4 DE.

Re: 2010 NFL Free Agency Rumors and Reports (Week 2)

It would be hard to pass on Suh, at #4 I think at that pick you have to take talent over need. Clausen at 4 with those guys out there is a strectch IMO. Hell, Clausen at 4 is stretch in my mind anyway.

We should atleast bring him in for a visit. If he gives us any indication that he'll be healthy anytime soon, we should sign him to a deal similar to the one we gave maake,

I would much rather choose between Anthony Davis and Clausen. Also no way does Suh get past #3 at this point.

Can he pass a physical?

The Bucs would either pounce on Suh at #3 or get a hell of an offer from a team looking to trade up.

Re: 2010 NFL Free Agency Rumors and Reports (Week 2)

why take suh when everyone wants him, he could be our ticket to trade down. He a great player but we need to address the issues that we have on the offensive line... Maybe the seahawks or 49ers would want to jump up to get him, giving us what we really need, more picks.

i think its a toss-up as to who is the better player. i personally prefer suh (although only slightly), but if mccoy fell to us and we drafted him, my revisionist memory would tell me that we just landed the best player in the draft.
Can he pass a physical?
that's what will probably scare some teams away, but he, like maake, is a low-risk/high-reward type prospect, especially if signed to a contract with little garaunteed money, but one that will pay him appropriately if he can earn a starting job.

a healthy andrews at guard and Hicks at RT would make me feel very good about the right side of our line.

ive said it before, but our phone would be ringing off the hook with trade offers if either Suh or McCoy fell to us, which is a very realistic possibility. However, it would need to be a very skins-favorable deal for me to like the trade down. the team we traded with would need to throw in something extra... like giving us more draft picks and taking carter off our hands. :)
The Bucs would either pounce on Suh at #3 or get a hell of an offer from a team looking to trade up.
I think both premises are individually unlikely. The Bucs would probably prefer McCoy to Suh with both available, but even if only Suh is, it's certainly not a slam dunk pick. Especially needing the offensive help as badly if not worse than we need it.

A trade down would be lucerative, only I imagine, if Bradford was available at No. 3. In which case, it makes sense that Suh would not be.

If Suh doesn't go No. 1, I think he goes No. 5 or lower.

Even if they do, McCoy (DT) will be there at 4. Another sure starter day 1, as opposed to Heath Shuler, err I mean Clausen.

How bad is his back probems? He's a realtively young player but back problems are not the kind to have for a football player. Obviously the Eagles felt he was expendabe.

2 games in 2008, none in 2009

if he's still available around the start of the season and a couple of our G's go down before then, I'd look at him

some people just waltz into the NFL and then fizzle out

damn shame.. all the talent in the world and won't do shit with it

Arizona is back home in the swamp of mediocrity. The fans better hope Anderson never sees the field, or else they may have to repair damages to their property.

we'll have to see how leinart comes out

he comes out strong.. young continues, etc

you may start to get the philosophy of today's QB's should chill for a couple of years before they start.. then they come out strong like... oh wait...

So Charlie Whitehurst goes to the Seahawks to be their QB of the future in exchange for a 2011 3rd round pick and a swap of 2nd round picks in this year's draft. Pretty shocking to me.
