Re: Massive quake hits Japan; Tsunami in Pacific, nations on alert
Instead of that pretty little explanation of how he is a victim of posting and reposting his original message he should have just said "Ladies and Gentlemen thank you, but I digress." He would have gotten a little more respect and maybe even a laugh out of me.
Ditto your thoughts on Japan and the people. I felt my only earthquake tremors there....and again agree, the mid-size ones are no fun. I'm not a big fan of sushi, but loved the Udon, had my only shark steak (excellent), and miss the "grill at your table" buffet places. I was there for three years back in 86-88 (Yokota AB), I think you may have mentioned before, but when were you there?
I was there roughly at the same time as you (86-87), in Nagoya. At once it seems like a long time ago and seems like yesterday. |

If you watch the whole thing it was snowing in some of the clips. |

Another (probably biased) take on the reactor situation.

They really had no choice from the beginning but to scrap the damaged reactors. Let the comparisons to Chernobyl now begin, because the article says that the people in the evacuated cities are not returning home "anytime soon". Looks like we have another Pripyat on our hands. Very sad. |

That project would take a year here just to get the approval for the permits. Then you would have one goverment worker actually working while six others lean on their shovel and 10 foreman yelling out instructions. |
