So , you have already told the NFL higher ups you plain to play in a way detrimental to the game and could very well penalize your own team and teammates for personal gain, that should go well in the Commissioner's office. |

when you hurt your team by doing stupid things,it goes way beyond being a mind game.i hope they put norman on marshall when we play this year. |

Source? If so, that sucks. Clayton is one of the last few credible guys out there. He shouldn't have a problem finding a job. |

Damn ESPN and Clayton won't comment? How lame is that for ESPN to let one of its' most credible guys go and they won't even make a statement. Clayton I can understand because he's probably bummed out. He won't have trouble finding work though. |

Sheeeit, for all we know Clayton's been the silent partner all these years. Also while we're on the topic gotta give a shoutout to his This is Sportscenter spot, that's my favorite one out of the bunch. |
Re: NFL offseason 1.0 thread
The writing has been on the wall for a couple of years now at ESPN. They are in trouble financially and the only thing still keeping them afloat is probably Monday Night Football.
People like Colin Cowherd and Skip Bayless and a couple others saw the writing and got out last year when their contracts were up for renewal and ESPN seriously low-balled them. So they walked on their own terms. ESPN then went on to lay off a lot of the 'behind the scenes' people in 2016. Now those affects are being felt by those we have seen in front of the camera in 2017. ESPN is circling the drain folks. |

He's top-notch IMO and I also think he'll have a good job soon. |

Good point, it's an angle I didn't think about. I think he'll end up at Fox Sports but I wish he wouldn't, their site is terrible and I hate reading articles on it. And I prefer articles any day of the week over dumb insider videos that won't load because their crappy custom built player doesn't work. |

I give them a few more years at best before they are OB |

Yeah ESPN is fucked, SS will probably argue that but the ratings don't lie.. Their clame to fame right now is First Take and that show is literally the same thing every day..

I mean our starting 3 is pretty much set as is and Maurice Harris, and some of the rooks give us some depth. I would see what we have first, and keep as much $ as possible as we will need it to keep Kirk. |

When Norman came available we lacked a starting caliber CB and cap space was abundant. Signing Maclin would putDoctson down at #4 on the depth chart. Diminishing returns. |
Re: NFL offseason 1.0 thread
I think Maclin will be too expensive. There should be plenty of interest in his services and other teams have more cap space than we do.
Would he make us better? Probably. Is there a need? I don't know. If Doctson is able to get on the field and stay there, probably not. |

Re: NFL offseason 1.0 thread
ESPN by virtue of their virtual monopoly of sports broadcasting got complacent and arrogant. In doing so they tried to set an agenda and went full retard and got political. Sports was the last vestige where folks could just enjoy something, then these morons actually considered themselves to be legit social commentators. Sports journalists are on the bottom of the writing totem pole, and are not the brightest either. The questions they ask at pressers are downright moronic half the time. I laughed my ass off when Beast mode played with them. Showed them for the retards they are.
|
Re: NFL offseason 1.0 thread
ESPN just got stale as well. Too many talking heads, talking about some extra trivial matters. NFL.com is a joke as well. How many
Kaepernick articles do we need? Why would I care about players tweets, etc? Not only that but the factual content is actually often wrong, where some easy, basic research would have done the trick. |
