49ers castoff updates after 2 games.
This was posted by really well respected poster on the Niners MB. Just thought it might interest some of you guys, because of the few guys you got from us, and some of other prominant players that left through FA.

Re: 49ers castoff updates after 2 games.
Pretty accurate assessment after 2 weeks. I hope there's a big change in his summary after week 17.

Not a great pass rusher but we could still use him. Not worth the money Seattle gave him though.

Re: 49ers castoff updates after 2 games.
Rumph made a tremendous play when he ripped the TD away from T.O. last night. He atoned for some bad plays with that one.
Right now, Rumph will have to make do for us. |

Yeah, T.O. slipped inside on the slant with Rumph trailing, but he recovered. Not sure which hand has the broken finger, but it was a hell of a play. But judging from you and other 49er fans, I suppose that will be it for Rumph's highlight reel for another 6 or 7 games, right? |

LOL. What a pathetic trade that was. Nearly as pathetic as Rashaun Woods for Sammy Davis. |
Re: 49ers castoff updates after 2 games.
Anyone else notice Taylor jacobs has a hamstring injury?

Re: 49ers castoff updates after 2 games.
rumph looks like the best 49er we got. we seriously shouldn't be shopping through a 4-12 team's garbage.
rumph for taylor "i think i have a concussion" jacobs was a steal though. not because rumph is good (he does add decent depth) but because jacobs is absolutely worthless. |
Re: 49ers castoff updates after 2 games.
Rumph almost had an INT in Week One too if he hadn't been trucked by Sean Taylor. I think he's a decent nickel CB. He's been better than Kenny Wright.

You guys have gotten the better end so far no noubt, but receiving Mike Rumph in any way shape or form cannot be labled a steal. |
Re: 49ers castoff updates after 2 games.
Ha! The joke's on you, bitches! Almost ALL our players suck, not just the ex-49ers!

you obviously haven't seen enough of taylor jacobs yet. |

Can you tell us which hand has the broken finger? And was that hand the one that held the ball as it was stripped away? |

You probably never will because he'll STAY hurt. At least Rumph is on the field for us. |
Re: 49ers castoff updates after 2 games.
I'm pretty sure T.O.'s broken finger is on his right hand

Yeah, I'm not sure which of his hands has the broken finger, but wideouts don't hold on to the ball with their fingertips. They hold the ball with their forearms. I maintain that the strip had nothing to do with the broken finger. |
Re: 49ers castoff updates after 2 games.
I actually think Rumph is going to develop into a very adequate nickel for us in the not too distant future. He seems to be around the ball, or just a step away here and there.

{INTENSE SARCASM} Yes, but he doesn't have 35 tackles and 12 INT's yet, so he's worthless. Every other DB has played lights out instead of Rumph. What a pathetic player he is! Stripping a ball away from a top 5 wideout in the back of the endzone. When is he going to get cut? That's got to be the question on everyone's mind. |
Re: 49ers castoff updates after 2 games.
I know right? He needs to step up.
