Doesn't sound too bad right now. No news about getting carted off or anything. All it says is he "may have hurt his knee."

I'm not going to worry until there's a reason to worry.

Let's not rush to judgment yet. MRI could show nothing

O-line can't afford this. Have to hope it's nothing major.

Re: Heyer Injured

If it is serious, I wonder if they'll start giving Bridges reps exclusively at T and put Lorenzo Alexander back on offense

Definitely possible given how deep the D-line is now. This got me thinking - with so many of our O-lineman north of 30/coming off surgery, if (when) injuries do occur, what kind of FAs are out there currently? I don't have a list, but I'd love to see one. Anyone?

Walking gingerly, but looks like it's not serious:

Re: Heyer Injured

I'm not one to rush to a judgement but at the same time I'm getting a little concerned w/ our oline right now. There are going to be injuries throughout the year. The problem is our starting unit is not looking too good per reports. Now, we should have a real good D line, but guess what? NY, Phili, and Dal do too. Our starters are getting it handed to them. What happens when we have some backups in there? A little concerned...

Wait for the MRI just to be sure.

The Eagles lost Bradley for the season Sunday for a torn ACL and he left the field on his own two feet too.

They're just calling it a bruise, and haven't said definitively if he'll even need an MRI.

"That means more reps for Chad Rinehart, the second-year offensive lineman out of Northern Iowa."

At first, I thought "Why not big Mike Williams?"

Then I read further down:

"Banged-up O-Line?

Stephon Heyer has a bruise on his knee, Jim Zorn said after practice.

"I don’t know what the extent of it is," Zorn said. "We’re looking at it."

Also, Mike Williams has injured his groin, Zorn said.

They join Randy Thomas and Casey Rabach in nursing injuries."

Maybe its time to bring in Levi Jones or Mark Tausher to make sure were not short handed going into the season?

We should, if we can, at least bring some camp bodies in

Levi Jones, hmmm, where have I heard that name before??

Re: Heyer Injured

His injury doesn't appear to be serious, but Levi Jones would be a good signing in case Heyer gets another injury.

Re: Heyer Injured

Keep in mind a lot of these bumps and bruises aren't injuries that would be a factor if there was a game this Sunday, but this time of year the team is going to be overly cautious and hold guys out.

Nice to hear good things about Rinehart too, he should see a lot of PT this preseason

The guy is 25 yrs. old and is only in his 3rd year in the league. Come on, just b/c he had what seems to be a minor injury in camp, let's not speculate that he's going to be injury prone.

I think we need just one thread for all these injury reports. It seems like everyone who get a bruise will get their own thread and people will freak out because in training camp they call it an injury.

I think that's a valid concern. He missed time last year with an injury as well

I just got a paper cut while rushing to post on this website. Awaiting the results of the MRI. LOL. :cool-smil

Heyer played 12 games in 2007...was that also b/c of injury or was he just not starting?

These worries are legit. Heyer has been hurt before, and this time Jansen won't be around to bail us out.

According to our good friend JLC (ha-ha), Pete Kendall could still be in the picture for the Redskins.

A bruised knee? There's no hope for Heyer. They should take a hint from race horses and just shoot him.

I don't think they really want another "bail out" like Jansen's. That is why they cut him.

If Kendall would sign a one year deal for cheap that seems like a no-brainer.

You can add Haynesworth, Thomas, and Rogers to that list. Apparently the team is already doomed.

Yeah. He hasn't been signed by anyone else and he's already familiar with us. He actually was one of our better linemen last year.

Re: Heyer Injured

The play of the offensive line should improve and I think Haynesworth is likely making the unit look worse than it is, but I'm pretty concerned about the offense. Samuels, Rabach, and Thomas are old, Thomas and Samuels are coming off of injuries, and I don't trust a healthy Heyer to protect JC. Hopefully, we find someone who can come in and play RT for a year or until we find a better, long-term replacement for Jansen.
