2010 Rookie Signing Tracker

Looks like a real good site for this information. One thing interesting is that they list a rookie pool number, but isn't that void without a salary cap? |
Re: 2010 Rookie Signing Tracker
Also Philadelphia has signed 10 of 13 rookies, that's reDonkeylous!

Re: 2010 Rookie Signing Tracker
Good site, heard Riley may sign tomorrow. Don't know for sure though

Re: 2010 Rookie Signing Tracker
I find it real interesting that we aren't disclosing financial terms. Again, in years past we would have shouted each signing to the world.

I had heard the others disclosed that day, but now I can't find the terms. But, since all three were 7th rounders, you can pretty well figure much of the same. Re: 2010 Rookie Signing Tracker
Trent Williams fired his agent...
# kjohnsoncsn Trent Williams says he still plans on signing & being in camp on time; But hiring a new agent @ this point certainly sets talks back a little about 1 hour ago via UberTwitter # Kelli Johnson Redskins top pick Trent Williams fired agent Eugene Parker; told me they "weren't a good fit". Has to wait 5 days to hire a new agent. about 1 hour ago via UberTwitter |

Perhaps this move, ironically, makes it more likely that Silverback will be in on time. |
Re: 2010 Rookie Signing Tracker
^ Good sign so far, this looks like Trent doesn't want to miss anything..

Austin has also signed. 4-Years is a long time! |

Let's hope so, the last thing this team needs now is another distraction. |
Re: 2010 Rookie Signing Tracker
I don't get the feeling that Williams wants to hold out...just watching his actions and the way he talks, he seems like he wants to learn and become a pro-bowl caliber LT and really wants to get the contract talks out of the way so he can focus on football.
Good Move!! |

typical rookie contract with the whole 5th year RFA thing |

Riley has signed

Re: 2010 Rookie Signing Tracker
Awesome! and TW is getting a new agent who will get it done. This is all good stuff! Of course now I wish they had spaced these out like 1 a week over the next 5 weeks, just to give us gristle to talk about

Hell yeah the next 5 weeks are going to be slow, i'm tired of the #ss %ole talk can't even write the initials. HTTR. |
Re: 2010 Rookie Signing Tracker
I'm hoping that the motivation for Silverback to fire his agent was to get into camp quicker and not some other underlying reason. For the moment though, if Williams was so eager to get his contract done that he fired his agent who is apparently notorious for having players sit out, then that can only be a good thing.

Re: 2010 Rookie Signing Tracker
The final Redskins rookie yet unsigned, Williams likely will wait as other first round draft picks sign their contracts. He recently fired agent Eugene Parker, but said he did not expect he would hold out come training camp, if he could avoid it.
"I can't guarantee that it won't be a minor holdout, but I guarantee it won't be more than a day if I do," Williams said. "They got me with the first group so I really can't afford to miss any practice. I stressed that to my agent and [we'll] see if we can get me to camp on time." I was wondering about this earlier today. Looks like he only fired the big name agent, not the whole team. I sure hope he gets his deal done on time! |
Re: 2010 Rookie Signing Tracker
From Ben Dogra's wiki:
NFL client base A few of Dogra's NFL clients include DE Mario Williams, Houston Texans; LB DeMeco Ryans, Houston Texans; RB Adrian Peterson, Minnesota Vikings; WR Roy Williams, Dallas Cowboys; RB Jonathan Stewart, Carolina Panthers; CB Terence Newman, Dallas Cowboys; WR Braylon Edwards, New York Jets; WR Lee Evans, Buffalo Bills; RB Joseph Addai, Indianapolis Colts; and LB Patrick Willis, San Francisco 49ers.
I don't see a lot of hold outs in that list, and also see players who tended to get good deals (I think of Willis and Demarco Ryans specifically) |
Re: 2010 Rookie Signing Tracker
I say the chances that Trent is here on time for training camp is about 80% now.

Did you think it was higher before? I read somewhere that his previous agent was notorious for having his clients hold out and Williams replaced him b/c the deal wasn't moving forward fast enough or something to that effect. I think I speak for everyone when I say I hope he is in camp on time. |
TW has made it clear he doesn't intend on holding out. I'm sure he'll be in on time, if he does miss time it won't be more than a day or two.

good stuff. Rarely you hear about a young up and coming redskin with a good head on his shoulders, ready to do what is needed to progress and succeed in his career. Very good stuff. |
Re: 2010 Rookie Signing Tracker
They will get this guy in camp on time. Right now he is one of the most important pieces of this team, and it seems as though he knows how important he is to the club. Not like AH, from what we hear in the media he has the drive and commitment to work hard and earn his spot on the line. Missing any of training camp will hinder him and the Redskins as a whole from getting that accomplished.
