Re: Playoff Predictor
I went by offensive rank and it has the Giants at the Redskins for a wild card. Imagine THAT game in the playoffs!
|
Re: Playoff Predictor
I went with win % with Skins losing @ CLE, winning against PHI and DAL. Have PIT beating DAL. We'd tie with Giants 9-7, winning NFC East via tiebreaker. Had the same matchup, Giants at Skins in wildcard round.

Re: Playoff Predictor
We need to win the division now. I don't see Seattle losing that last WC spot. Maybe Chicago can implode and lose out, but Seattle may only lose their game against SF. The rest of their opponents are cupcakes.
Dallas is a mess so they don't worry me. We just need to win one more game than the Giants here out...one being the Dallas game to make sure they're dead. I think Atlanta will beat the Giants. I really hope Baltimore can too. We can manage 2 out of 3 easily I think...but winning out is going to be tough, starting with Cleveland this week. They're beaten Cincinnati, Pittsburgh and played Dallas and the Giants really tight. They should not be overlooked. Vick and McCoy may be back for our game too. They've been playing better without them since we've beat them too...I'd hate to see us drop that game. That would be embarrassing. If the division is on the line against Dallas, which it likely will be, RGIII will come out like an unstoppable force. He'll play left-handed to win that game. I'm optimistic that we can win our games. I'm worried the Giants will win their games too though. If last week against the Saints is any indication, they're starting up their late season hot streak that they're famous for after a bad middle of the season. |

1st round bye AFC
Houston 13-3 New England 12-4 Pitt 10-6 @ Den 12-4 Indy 11-5 @ Balt 12-4 1st round bye NFC Atlanta 14-2 San Francisco 12-3-1 Chi 11-5 @ Green Bay 11-5 Seattle 11-5 @ Wash 10-6 |
Re: Playoff Predictor
I put in by power rankings and it has the Giants winning the division at 9-5-2. Has them tying the Ravens and Eagles, but beating the Falcons. Thinking this thing isn't working as planned.
I wouldnt bet on that happening.
They've both passed their concussion tests. McCoy has a chance to play limited snaps on Thursday. Reid knows he's getting fired and Vick's going too most likely...he's going to want to win a few at the end. All they have left is the spoiler role. Reid doesn't care about Foles' development and future any more...he won't be there. I really doubt Vick will play but it wouldn't shock me. We need to at least realize it could be a possibility as we prepare for the game. |
Re: Playoff Predictor
I don't think I could stomach another Patriots/Giants Super Bowl. I'm done with seeing both teams in the big dance, and especially after the crap Mara pulled on us, I would be especially bitter with the Giants being there. I'm just tired of Tom Brady and Bill Belecheat. I literally think I would skip this year's Super Bowl if I had to endure Eli VS Tom part 3!
|
Re: Playoff Predictor
I don't see anyone stopping the Patriots at this point. Big injuries don't even slow them down. Only losing Brady could stop them.
It's between them and Denver in the AFC as I see it. Houston is a lot like Atlanta where their record is a lot better than they have played. The NFC is wide open...so many possibilities. I'd love to see a rematch of SBXXII...us vs. Denver. Maybe next year, realistically. |

Vick's tenure in Philly is over. He will be cut during that 3 day period that gets them off the hook for big money. |

I hope Houston gets some kind of a pass defense and can make a run. Possible San Fran vs Houston superbowl. |

I think the Ravens could slide down a deep hill. |

Baltimore has NYG at home and ATL does as well. Possible yes, likely no, but I am a hopeful Skins fan so I think they will lose one for sure possibly two. |
Re: Playoff Predictor
we need to win out, that's the easiest solution. If we do that, and either Chicago or Seattle loses 1 (likely with GB playing Chicago for the division marbles this week) we are in, and then it's just positioning.

We have a lot of tiebreakers going our way, and if we were to win out, a wildcard birth could be there if Chicago or Seattle stumbles. |
Re: Playoff Predictor
with kapernick improving, maybe san fran has a shot, i never thoguht alex smith could take them to the big one... green bay is always a threat.. and we need the giants to lose and we need to keep winning..... **** seattle.

Re: Playoff Predictor
Usually our season has already been over for a month by now. But this year it's mid-December and we are still relevant. That's enough for me right now.
|
Re: Playoff Predictor
Skins have played 4 playoff games in a row. I honestly think one more loss and we dont get in.

Good point. I'm in the frame of mind that the 'skins have worked this hard to get to this point, I'd hate to see it all evaporate this weekend. Certainly would sting if it's against the Eagles or Cowboys, but the fact that the 'skins are still battling for a playoff spot shows this team has turned the corner. If this team makes the playoffs this season, there's no question that playoffs will be expected from here on out. |
Re: Playoff Predictor
we need to win out:
any giants loss would give us the division any chicago loss would give us a wildcard a seattle loss to sf or stl would also give us a wildcard |

Re: Playoff Predictor
I have us playing NY in NY as the Wildcard and Seattle playing at San Fran.
We'll see. My favorite scenario, is us playing Seattle at home and NY playing at San Fran |
Chicago will finish 9-7 and I think we'll get in over them

Baltimore is likely to come out swinging too because Ray is coming back, Suggs probably too and you can bet Harbaugh will rally them to finish strong. NY finishing 9-7 is pretty plausible, and if we finish 9-7 we get the nod on division record. Seahawks and Bears probably finish with 10-6 records and get both wildcard spots. I think the division is our only shot and it can happen at 9-7. 10-6 gets us in pretty safely because I think NY will lose at least one game. |
Re: Playoff Predictor
Hard to see two teams from the NFCE getting in this year.
|
Re: Playoff Predictor
I think the Skins will make the playoffs and I also think they will be a dangerous team because they are getting confidence in themselves. I see the Skins playing at least 2 playoff games.

3 weeks ago that was true, but now, if Chicago loses this weekend, the chances for the Giants and winner of the Dallas/Skins game to both be in is very good. That said, the eagles are set up perfectly to be the spoiler for both the Skins and Giants, so don't count them as a W yet. |

what tiebreaker do we have over them? 1. Head-to-head, if applicable. n/a 2. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference. both teams 8-4 3. Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games, minimum of four. seattle 4-1, redskins 3-2 |

In all of these scenarios, we need to win out. I am hopeful that the team is staying focused on that fact.

i doubt the giants are going to lose to the falcons and the ravens, or that any of these teams will drop 2. |
Re: Playoff Predictor
I saw Faulk had the Skins winning the NFC East. It's hard to believe that this team is hot this time of year.
