Around The NFL Week 17
I hope everyone had a great Christmas!
Week 17 always sucks for me, It's basically the end of football season and lately (basically for 20 years) the Redskins play their last game this week. That's all changed now, I already have the playoffs pretty much marked down. Bears will lose to Detroit in a Big Upset, and GB will roll Minnesota but what makes it even better? The skins will defeat Dallass at home in primetime in our biggest game in a decade! HTTR, Enjoy the finale of the NFL Regular season. |

Doesn't bode well for when we host them at Fed Ex next week

Listen to this dumbass and his ego.
"I'm a big RGIII fan," Vick told USA Today before the game. "He reminds me of what I do. I'm the originator of everything that's transpired in the league with the style of quarterback. It makes it gratifying to me."
Originator? ROOOOOOOFFLLLL  Somebody needs to test this guy for drugs because he's smoking some good shit if he believes that. Vick is a moron. Hope he enjoys being a backup. He's done for in this league. |

Beneath the well deserved hype of RG3 emerges another Incredible Redskins Rookie - The Amazing -
...........................Alfred Morris........................ Alfred Morris Chasing Two More Washington Redskins Records in Week 17 | Bleacher Report *He is currently tied with Hall of Famer Charley Taylor. The running back turned wide receiver set the mark in 1964. *Now Morris has a bigger franchise landmark in sight. He is 104 yards short of the Redskins record for rushing yards in a season. The current record is held by Clinton Portis. He rushed for 1,516 yards in 2005, helping push the Redskins into the playoffs. Morris has a good chance to beat that mark, based on the last time he played the Cowboys. In Week 12's 38-31 win in Dallas, Morris powered his way for 113 yards on 24 carries. He averaged 4.7 yards a carry and scored on a 1-yard run. Morris has a strong chance to repeat those numbers against the Cowboys' 17th-ranked run defense. |

Don't downplay vicks impact while in Atlanta, he carried that team for a while and was the most exciting player the league had seen in a while. That being said he's not or was the passer Griff is but a runner he was just as talented as RGIII.
|
Re: Around The NFL Week 17
I'd give the edge to Vick in the running dept but there's no comparing them as passers. RG3 is light years ahead of Vick in that regard, also in pocket presence and being able to read a defense. And then there's the work ethic and character comparisons, again Vick simply can't match up.

Vick in Atlanta was nothing but a glorified RB. Nothing more, nothing less. Carried the team? Not hardly. That team had good RBs (Dunn) and a decent defense lead by Abraham and Brooking. Let's not act like Vick carried the team. He didn't. If anything, he hindered that team due to him lacking ability at the QB spot. |

Idk man I think your being a little hard on the guy, defenses struggled to stop him from having good games. He's not Griffin or was I'm just saying Vick was no bum either. Also his first year in Philly was incredible |

The comment about Vick in Atlants...just nonsense. He was phenomenal. Could have been better undoubtedly if he actually studied, practiced and worked on his passing game. I'm all for opinions, such as my (incorrect) one that Shanahan would not have a winning season again. But the past can be fact checked. |

Vick still way behind as a passer in comparison to RG3. Just my personal opinion, i dont like an ignore list. People should want to hear opinions no matter how crazy. Plus its funny when NC and Goat fight. |
I agree. How hard is it to ignore something that's posted when you don't agree and can't mount a reasoned counter?

He's certainly a player of value playing for a bad team. Once he moves on to his third NFL team, he might start playing better again. |

teams who want to fill their stadium will give him a chance. Sleeper team is Oakland imo |
Re: Around The NFL Week 17
i think that season may prove an outlier. I don't think he's terrible, but i don't think he's ever been nearly as game changing as all the hype.
atlanta season tickets went up over 25,000 seats after he was drafted though. so atlanta didn't make any kind of mistake in drafting him. |

Re: Around The NFL Week 17
Stud in Atlanta? Phenomenal? Sure, he was a stud at running the ball, but he was a absolute failure as a #1 QB. He couldn't touch Randall Cunningham's jock as a QB.
Let me ask you, are these the stats you expect to see from a guy being drafted #1 coming out of college to be your QB? 181 attempts 2065 yards 13 TDs 5 Ints Had you told me the Redskins were going to draft a QB in the first round with these type of college stats I would drive to Landover and kick whoever drafted that person in the balls. Vick was good at "making ESPN highlights" and "selling jerseys". His entire career in Atlanta, he surpassed 2,500 yards passing ONE time. Once and even then he didn't even manage 3,000 yards. 62,81,69,78,73,75 The above numbers are his QB rating numbers in Atlanta. Stud to you? Phenomenal? No, he was a flat out bust as a QB. 44,54,50,56,55,52 His completion percentage numbers above from his time in Atlanta. Stud? Phenomenal? Vick was the best in the NFL at "making plays", but making plays doesn't win champsionships. Running the offense does. (These were the quote words used by Steve Young, but in reference to McNabb. Vick fits just as easily in this quote) Much like Lohmiller, people's revision on Vick's history as a QB in Atlanta is much different than reality. |

Fat man is already planning his exit strategy. Laughable that Vick said he saw himself in RGIII.....lol What a clown. |

Re: Around The NFL Week 17
Mark Sanchez back to normal....lol
4/8....14 yards....1 INT I'm still laughing at that contract extension for Sanchez and trade for Tebow. You have to fire Rex and Tannebum after this season. |
Vick has always been overrated. Folks here talk about gimmicks, Vick is the ultimate gimmick. His success has depended upon his athletic gifts and his ability to improvise. He is not and never will be a disciplined player who can succeed in multiple systems. As such, his style can't be replicated by other teams or QB's.
In his prime, he caught folks off guard, but as he has aged and slowed down, his glaring deficiencies as a QB become more and more obvious. They were always there but his freakish athletic gifts covered for them. He is done and I, for one, am hopeful I dont have to watch this douche ever again. |
His small brain in that large head is prone to concussions.
|
Man, what happened to Matt Stafford? I've never seen a qb have such highs (last year) and lows (this year) like he has.
|
Also, based off this Chi-Det game, it looks like a win-and-in, lose-and-out scenario for us.
