Actually, no it isn't -- at the risk of being be pedantic here (I am an intellectual property litigator, as it turns out), those are trademarks, not copyrights. And for trademarks, there has to be a likelihood of consumer confusion for infringement -- that's the standard (see
https://www.uspto.gov/trademarks/basics/what-trademark; https://www.uspto.gov/page/about-trademark-infringement) -- and it wouldn't apply here as the spear the Commanders are using and in the context in which they're using it (i.e., an NFL team) would not likely cause someone to mix up the two. FSU is not going to be able to block every use of a spear logo by a team -- only those that create the likelihood of confusion. And generally speaking, companies will do trademark clearance work to make sure that they're not going to have issues when they roll out their marketing materials, logos, etc.
Anyway, back to the uniform discussion, I noticed that there are a bunch of teams that rolled out new unis so far this spring -- Rams, Falcons, Titans, and Ravens did too. And all of them seem like cleaner, slightly updated versions of throwback uniforms (with the exception of the Ravens) -- interesting trend that I tend to like.
