Garcia To Back Up McNabb
The Eagles agreed to a one-year contract with free agent quarterback Jeff Garcia to have the veteran back up Donovan McNabb. Both have clashed with Owens in the past, so they'll have plenty to discuss.

Philadelphia also re-signed free agent wideout Darnerien McCants. . . .
Linebacker Willie McGinest, released by New England, reunited with Romeo Crennel, the former Patriots defensive coordinator who's now Cleveland's head coach, by agreeing to a three-year, $12 million contract with the Browns that includes $6 million in guaranteed money. The busy Browns also signed free agent guard Bob Hallen, formerly of San Diego. . . .
Free agent linebacker Nate Webster left Cincinnati by agreeing to a two-year, $1.5 million deal with Denver that includes a $200,000 signing bonus. . . . The Bengals re-signed safety Anthony Mitchell. . . .
