It can be blamed on alot of factors, but the one that most people seem to be missing is that McNabb has had his best day. People are still in denial thinking he can be good here, but most of the signs point to DM being like every other aging star QB. That is, his play suffers slight, but noticible decline, and regresses to the point that he is benched for a youngster...then retires if he cannot swallow his pride and continue in the NFL as a backup.

Probably right. Still I think he's healthy enough & physically able that he could play at a pretty high level. I think a career's worth of bad habits has caught up to him, namely his poor footwork. He's always been an inaccurate passer, but w/age it's harder to compensate for poor form.
I also think this year was more than he bargained for in terms of preparation. He probably thought he could work at the same pace he did in Philly, but he had to learn a new system here. He may have underestimated his learning curve as much as the Skins overpaid for him.
