You foolishly believe that resigning those players comes at the expense of signing a "starter." Your "conventional thinking" is nothing more than your own uninformed assumption. The skins can still free up about 14MM in restructures. You criticized the guys we resigned but they're all essentially making the vet minimums. We have to have 53 men on the team, and only 22 of them are starters. so far, were filling the 31 backup positions. When the market settles, we will sign a few good, quality players to reasonable contracts. We won't overspend, like the cards did on Lorenzo Alexander. They gave 3MM a year to a special teamer. That's stupid. The first few days of free agency, almost every team OVERpays for certain players. Right now, the market is literally flooded with comparable quality CBs. Why overspend on one now when we can wait a week or two when the market settles, and get one of comparable talent for half the price?
