Jesus Camp:

Has anyone else seen this? Wow. All I can say is fanaticism in any religion isn't a good thing. Before you say you're a Christian and attack me, please watch the movie. I'm all for people finding their religion, whatever that may be, but I find this particular movement very scary.

say what ya will re: cuban's on and off court antics, but his non-nba ventures are very cutting edge. he's also released certain indie movies on dvd the same day they're released in the theater... not sure if this will work out, but it's progressive nonetheless.

i have "jesus camp" in my netflix queue... i hear it's very intriguing. has anyone seen "hellhouse" or "the devil's playground"? both are very fascinating documentaries, as well.

Magnolia has had some strong movies, Enron, Control Room, and one of the strongest docs I've ever seen "Capturing the Friedmans"

I have seen hell house. It is decent. Jesus Camp is eye opeing. they way they brain wash those children, espically about eveloution. Very sad.

Best documentary show on right now is Intervention on A&E. It is awesome. Fridays episode was so powerful. I feel like hugging my whole family after that show and thank god no one I love has an addication.

Re: Jesus Camp:

Capturing the Friedmans was truly remarkable. Jesus Camp is great too, even though it freaked me out. Something about watching 8 year olds pray to a life sized cut out of George Bush makes me think Christianity in this country has veered off course a little.

Re: Jesus Camp:

Yeah watching kids cry, and repent at 8? Wtf, it was a crazy movie, you all should see this. They were also teaching kids at home, and teaching them terrible stuff.

Here is the link for the full movie guys

Online Video: camp.avi | Veoh Video Network

gotta download it though. Worth the watch, however.

Re: Jesus Camp:

The Bible has always warned of False Teachers and Fasle Doctrin[sp?] and Cults.

Jesus said many will come to Him at the end and say they preached and did things in His names and and He will say "I knew you not" and cast them into Hell.

He also said it would be better for someone to put a heavy Mill Stone around their neck and be cast into the Sea than to lead astray one of His children.

peace and Prayers

Re: Jesus Camp:

The problem with that, SBF, is every sect of Christianity says that about the others. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to compare the pentecostal to the more main stream sects of Christianity. However, it's never good to see fanaticism and someone who feels that they are 100% correct. It's definitely worth the watch.

I have no problem saying I am 100% right about believing in Jesus and the Holy Bible. There is no gray area and other way to Heaven but by Jesus. God provided us with His Word and that is the Holy Bible. If you or anyone believes different I believe you and they would be 100% wrong.

Jesus Himself said in John 14:6
Quote:
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
You may not believe and clearly many folks don't believe but the evidence I've seen in my small life trumps people opinions.

I'm not wrong to say I am 100% right. I'm a faithful and humble follower of Jesus the Christ.

I never argue about my religion or try to beat people in the head with Jesus. Never works and Jesus gets bruised. I just believe and share my faith and tesitmony.

Like I said above those folks are not teaching what is taught in the Bible.

peace and prayers guys!

By saying that someone is 100% wrong for not beleiving the way you do is beating us with your ideas. It is a aggresive statement.

Re: Jesus Camp:

SBF, what would you say about all of the bible verses and other gospels that were omitted by Constantine and the Council of Nicaea? You understand that there was a bit of 'picking and choosing' with God's Word by human beings, right?

The Bible, and the concept of the Holy Trinity are obviously loaded with area's that spur Hot debate. It is the ultimate catch-22, and has been that way for millenia. That won't change any time soon. It comes down to faith. Do I, or do I not, see enough evidence to believe? For me, the interesting part is NOBODY knows for sure the validity of belief, or the lack thereof until it's to late to repair, if you are wrong.
For me, it's easy, Via con Dios
