Re: Wade Phillips to Interview with the Redskins
I just learned that our tight ends coach is Wade's son.

WP is a 2 year maybe 3 year "good" bandaid and I sure hope KN Jr will be available when that time comes.

Re: Wade Phillips to Interview with the Redskins
People are talking about Wade Phillips like we are signing a 38 year old CB to a 5 year deal

Re: Wade Phillips to Interview with the Redskins
It occurs to me that the hiring of McCloughan helps us on getting the DC we want. What DC candidate isn't going to look favorably upon a team where he is picking out your players in light of his track record at SF and Seattle? Every DC candidate should now look at DC as a great destination. We should be very deliberate here and make a good choice, as our new GM should give us some leverage to do so.

Re: Wade Phillips to Interview with the Redskins
If the Redskins were hiring Phillips as a HC I would have some concerns.....but as a DC he is proven to have fielded superb defenses in his career. If hired he would be a great asset to the Redskins.....

Re: Wade Phillips to Interview with the Redskins
I agree. Having said that, if we go the route of an up-and-comer, I really hope we get lucky and get someone who nails it. Phillips is a reasonably sure bet, and it's hard to take a lot of risks when you're strapped for talent because failure hurts you far worse.

Re: Wade Phillips to Interview with the Redskins
The Giants have requested permission to interview Redskins DBs coach Raheem Morris for their defensive coordinator vacancy.
In two years with Morris at the helm of the Redskins' secondary, the unit has ranked 24th and 20th against the pass. A lot of that has to do with talent deficiencies, which is why Morris is at least getting a look. Expect the Giants to cast a wide net in their search for Perry Fewell's replacement. Morris is also considered a candidate to replace Jim Haslett as defensive coordinator in Washington. Im on my way to northern va to pack his bags...heck ill put in for a one way ticket

Re: Wade Phillips to Interview with the Redskins
Still remember when Lavar Arrington took the Skins playbook to the Giants. With all the fuss over Spygate, can't believe there wasn't an investigation of the Giants.

Re: Wade Phillips to Interview with the Redskins
If you're thinking of a current player, you might want to wait until Scot has had a pass through our roster....
