2026 Trade Deadline

Deadline is less than 4 weeks away. Maybe as a distraction from our woes, what are the groups thoughts on possible trades in and out of the roster at this point?

Payne is probably an obvious outgoing one. I just don't see them extending him, instead trying to get value from a good but inconsistent player. And he'll want paying too.

Does Mikey have any value now? I think he's gone after this season anyway, so getting a low pick for him instead of nothing...

Do we look to trade off value now and give up on this season? If so, Diggs could be shipped. I personally don't like it as it removes a good weapon from Daniels, but he'll have some value.

Trading in is a quandary. If we win 2 more games before the deadline, however likely that is, we could be looking to stay in the race this season. If not, do we bring in players with an eye to next year or just sell? If we're competitive I'd like to see a CB and OL brought in, but aside from Porter (too expensive now?) who is there?

If the season over by trade deadline, everyone but Styles is tradeable. Even Terry is expendable.

Just relax, sit back, and put your faith in AP to do the right thing. Has he let you down yet?

LMAO. This is what I needed to laugh thanks. Just like when he assessed the oline was good with the Tunsil injury and the Alegretti mess in August. SMH. Egregious oversight when you have a stud rookie qb on a rookie contract.

Fans and talking heads have always been bad at predicting the value of players in a trade. Look at Porter, everyone thought it was going to take at least one first day pick and he went for far less, then Harrison, Jr was predicted to go for a 4th or 5th round and went for way more.

If I had to guess we could get a day 3 pick for Payne. I would guess from a WR perspective Terry would be the one they would move. He will be entering year 3 of his contract but it is very team friendly in terms of if he gets released. The fact that he is under contract for one more year should bring in more value than Diggs.

I don't see anyone parting with an O-line man there is such a dearth of talent there in the league for many obvious reasons but mostly because it is the largest squad on the field so finding 5 starters and then 4-5 quality back ups is such a challenge. Maybe CB? But if Amos comes back and is playing will with Robertson is that where we want to make a trade? I feel like maybe edge would be a place we want better production?

Re: 2026 Trade Deadline

I would give Jags a call about Brian Thomas to see if we can get him for a ham sandwich. It does seem like he isn't going to live up to his draft status but there's no doubt that he can at least be a decent receiver and his relationship with JD could enable him to be overachiever.

Other than that, we stay pat. We don't know what things will look like by the time the season ends, so there's no need to complicate our position in the future until we know where we stand.

Re: 2026 Trade Deadline

I wonder if over the bye they'll consider going to get Decker. I just cannot understand why they're doing nothing. Maybe they think there's no point because Decker won't want to be a 1 year rental and that Tunsil will be back next year. But Coleman was awful last night (again), as was Paul (and Coleman had beaten Paul out for LG during camp). We have no functioning left side of the line. Conerly had a bad game although he's generally been decent this season, and Cosmi is obviously good. I worry that it is just a matter of time before JD5 goes down again behind this horrid O line -- his blind side protectors are just so bad.

I wouldn't mind seeing a play for Brian Thomas (on a prove it deal -- he's been benched, after all, so no need to go nuts here) as well. This division can be won, even now, but they need some help (not to mention, far better coaching).

After the bye, they play the Eagles -- absolutely winnable game. Then the Rams (who may be really desperate by then), Giants (winnable), Bengals (likely loss), Cards (winnable), Titans (winnable), Texans (winnable), Falcons (winnable), Vikings (likely loss), Jax (likely loss), and Dallas (winnable). To be clear, they could lose every one of these if they don't get their act together over the bye. But I could see getting 7 wins and finishing 8-8-1 (which might even win this putrid division). They have to win their remaining divisional games though having now lost to Dallas and Philly and tied the Gmen.

It is possible that the FO did reach out to Decker but he isn't interested, after all, even he knows that he would be a band aid solution for us.

Agree with you on other points. In addition, McLaurin has a torn patellar tendon and is out for the season. At this point, it doesn't look good for his future, unfortunately (he's definitely a great Redskins/Commanders player). Give Jags a call to see how much it would cost us to get BTJ.

Good point -- I hadn't considered that they may have been rejected by Decker. But we're entering week 7 and he is stull unsigned -- one might think he'd be a little less discerning at this point.

Re: 2026 Trade Deadline

There are a few teams that could use LT help including a potential super bowl contenders, Chiefs? Bears need one too

The fact that Decker is still out there tells me he is not an option for whatever the reason.

Re: 2026 Trade Deadline

We really don't have any assets worth trading to be honest. JD and Sonny Styles are the only two that are untouchable IMO. Terry was our best chance at potential trade bait. Nobody trading for Diggs, he could have been had in the market in FA.

Also, Tunsil/Connerly/Cosmi are keepers too.

Re: 2026 Trade Deadline

Looks like the Seahawks are trading for Quinton Nelson. Was kind of we did something like this given how bad our LG situation is. Dang -- for a 2027 3rd rounder and a 2028 5th rounder. That's a good deal for an All Pro starting OL.
