Re: Mark Brunell booed
I was at the game and I was embarassed. There were a bunch of Giants fans in my section that booed at first when he started trotting on the field, and I would very much like to blame that on them, but sadly I know that it was skins fans too, and moreso than just disruptive Giants fans.
I will say that the band playing in the club level was very good.

Re: Mark Brunell booed
I was yelling at everyone "Don't booo him! We want to win! Don't boo him! You guys are crazy"...
But then a bunch of drunken rednecks were like "Brunell sucks donkey D$%*" and realized my efforts were futile. I just decided to start cheering as loud as a could. Great game to go see, Fed-Ex field was very loud on third down, and was pretty much flawless minus the Brunell booing fiasco.

Re: Mark Brunell booed
I was so disappointed by this. Nobody in my section was booing, though, so I'm not sure where it was coming from.

Re: Mark Brunell booed
Well, Jason Campbell is showcasing why he is our quarterback over Mark Brunell.....
but I agree that there was really no reason to boo him.

Re: Mark Brunell booed
i agree. that was the most classless thing ive seen this season other than a few players spitting or stepping on eachother. and that crap coming from skins fans is unacceptable. but i mean cmon on that scramble he had he ACTUALLY took the hit. i mean some of even the best backups in the league dont have the stones to take a hit. kudos to mark.

Re: Mark Brunell booed
Those werent redskins fans...not true ones anyway...We needed that losing season...........to flush all the bandwagoners...Ill be right here till the last brick falls and seriously Those second half drives SHOW that the last brick aint fallin anytime soon And Brunell is a decent backup...Booing the Completion record holder Is a result of Ravens, Cowboys, and other people who jumped ship when the redskins won 5 straight to go to the postseason.

Why shouldn't the players be booed? They underachieved across the board this year and they planted the seed that this was a Super Bowl year. The fans pay a lot of money and they are well within their rights. I don't think it is classless at all. This team was an embarassment. Now, Brunell should not be the sole recipient. They should have introduced every player before the game and all deserve to be bood except maybe Campbell and Betts. |

The blind loyalty needs to stop. This type of thinking is why Snyder gets to have a fantasy football draft every off-season. |

just because people boo doesn't mean someone is stupid, or any less of a fan. did you sit there and not critisize our team at all this year, that is what booing, letting you team know they are playing lousy. Now, booing brunell was a bit uncalled for, but hey we all pay $100's of dollars to go to the game to sit in the stands, fight traffic pay $7 bucks or so for a beer. if someone wants to boo, so be it. They pay those salaries, they dont really have a voice in any decision making processes at Redskin park, so that is the only way fans can be heard sometimes. Hey, I agree with one guy the D should have been booed the whole damn game! they suck@! |

That's why I kind of started the thread. You really never know what you'll do until you're actually in the stands for yourself. I find it interesting that most of the people their booing, if asked away from the stadium would you ever boo a pro-football player, they probably would say no, and how classless it is. You just never know, that's all. |

Re: Mark Brunell booed
Let me add one more thing to that - Is logging on to Warpath and writing negative comments or saying what's on your mind about Brunell any less classless than booing him to his face at the game? Or sitting at a bar booing the Skins while you're next to another guy cheering for the Redskins?
When is one context preferred over the other?? How is one classless and the other isn't? |

Re: Mark Brunell booed
I was all for MB's benching, but to boo him last night? Wow! If anyone should have been booed, it should have been Gibbs for sticking with him too long!

Re: Mark Brunell booed
That was one of our topics of conversation on the way home from the game last night, and I concur with those who viewed the booing of Brunell as classless. We were reminding each other of how this has been the case with QB's for a long time with some of our fans. We were there when they were booing Billy in favor of Sonny, and some of those used to get real ugly. It's not the right thing to do in my opinion, but it seems to be the nature of the beast. It has always seemed to be reserved for the QB's.
