Re: Conference Championship thread
Plus add: NE has not faced a defense like the Seahawks. Seahawks secondary and ability to stop the pass is second to none at this time in the NFL. The only chance NE has is if they can run the ball successfully against Seahawks.

I give the slight nod to the Patriots in this game due to their advantage at QB and coaching. However, I would not be surprised if Seattle pulls the win the same way they beat Green Bay, with their defense keeping them in the game and Wilson/Lynch doing some last minute heroics.

If I could think of that before the play, and i did, surely professional football coaches should be able to think of it. As for the onside kick recovery by Seattle - well, stuff happens. I wouldn't blame the ST coach for that one. The in-game coaching decisions by GB were terrible all game long. I got the feeling that McCarthy didn't vary one bit from what he had planned to do before the game started. That is a recipe for failure in a playoff game. Seattle should give him a game ball.

Re: Conference Championship thread
Both Sherman and Earl Thomas get MRI's today. It would be huge if they were out but of course they do have two weeks to heal.

NFL Conference Championship Wrap-up: See You in Arizona «
The portion about Mike McCarthy at the end is spot on. Green Bay isn't going to win another SB with him at the helm. I wasn't joking when I said he should be fired for that game the other day because he should. This isn't a knee jerk reaction either. What it showed is he doesn't know how to coach in the big games, and he coaches scared. You don't want neither quality like that in a coach because they'll be good enough to win in the regular seasons but you can forget it come playoffs. In the playoffs, you have to have balls. You noticed Pete Carrol has balls (fake FG). You notice Bill Belichick has balls. (several trick plays) You saw Sean Payton have balls. (onside kick in SB) This conservative bullshit game planning isn't going to cut it in the playoffs. Add to the fact he said he wasn't going to question the play calling? Do what? Looks like one person was questioning it. Aaron Rodgers does not seem happy with play-calling | ProFootballTalk

I will admit this New England team is a much more well rounded team then that Broncos team that got stomped last year. But short of Seattle having another sub-par turnover/mistake filled game, Seattle should win this one. Bellichicken and Brady are good, but not enough to over come the difference in physical play and strength which should favor Seattle. As much as the NFL wants it be a QB driven league and would love for this game to turn into a flag football game/QB love fest, it will still come down who wins the physical/athletic battle. I hope that never changes in this great game. But I am sure if Seattle wins another one the NFL rules committee will be changing more rules to give the offense more advantage. I will say I think the Refs will be protecting Brady big time. |

Re: Conference Championship thread
Don't each team supply like 12 balls for them to use on offense, they are checked to meet requirements of 12.5 to 13.5 psi then given back to each team? Didn't play stop so that a ball could be exchanged before a snap?

Re: Conference Championship thread
Both of these teams are just awful. Pats have a fanbase that rival the Cowboys and the Seahawks are a bunch of crybaby whiners (same could be said about the Pats).
Bunch of baby back bitches on both teams. I hope they tie.
