Re: What is CP worth
Clinton portis is the best football player on this team. Even I know that. He was never healthy this season. It was a tribute to his heart and love for the game that he played and played as well as he did. Anyone who would suggest getting rid of Clinton needs to be seeing a whole team of psychiatrists.

Re: What is CP worth
Sorry if this has been said already...
I always think it's funny when people say things like this: "Portis doesn't fit into Saunders' system". Well, Portis is the one who plays on the field -- not Saunders. If Portis doesn't fit into what Saunders is doing, then Saunders needs to do something else.

Re: What is CP worth
Not a single mofoin person answered the question. I get that Clinton is not going to be traded, but I didnt ask if he should be traded, I asked what is he worth, as in if he were traded HYPOTHETICALLY!!!!! what could we get, I just gave just about the only situation where Clinton would be traded when I mentioned that Saunders thing, but I might have mentioned like a million times that I get that Clinton isn't and shouldnt be traded, but this thread was just supposed to be a fun question. You dont like it, dont have you and thirty other people say how stupid this thread is, just dont respond. Read all my posts, and ull see that I think that Clinton will be fine in Saunders's system.

Re: What is CP worth
Okay. I think CP is worth two 1st round picks. I'd be willing to trade him for that.

Re: What is CP worth
I dont think CP is worth as much now as he was in July. I dont think CP would fetch as much as most on this site think. He's a good 2nd tier back but not an elite like LT or SA.

2nd tier? C'mon, last year he was easily a top 5 back. This year he got banged up and never got started, but I think we'll see him return to form next year. |

I hope he does return to form but the facts are he kind of old for a RB and he now has a bad shoulder that could be a problem. I think CP will be good to go next year but I think the reality is that his best days are behind him. |

Re: What is CP worth
Are we talking about a different Clinton Portis here? CP is only 25 years old (younger than both LT and SA)

Re: What is CP worth
Second tier? Wtf?! The only back in the NFL that is arguably better is Tomlinson. Portis is more complete and durable than Alexander. He's one of the best pure runners in the league, and he blocks better than any tailback currently playing. And don't get me started on Betts. This is a stupid thread...

I dont agree. Saunders system creates space for the running backs. once our team gets this system down and running it smoothly CP will have awesome games. the guy was hurt from day one and never was 100%. Portis is an amazing talent with heart, hussle and determination that so many of todays players lack. This guy picks up the blitz better than any RB in the NFL, will run his ass off down field to block or lay someone out. He is a leader in the locker room. We would be crazy to get rid of him now. Especially since we gave up the best CB in the nfl to get him. We would have absolutely nothing to show for that move. Lay off Portis, the guy is on IR for crying out load. |
