On a separate note, I said it last off-season and I'll say it again this off-season

Re: The official cut Torrence thread
As you all were mentioning why was there no safety help? Did we blitz both safeties?
Since Torrence was in, we should've had Landry helping him out. But I guess we might've been doubling holt. Torrence sucks, but is Smoot really all that better in coverage? Finally who else do we put in instead? It's not like we can have 4 Carlos Rogers on one team.

Re: The official cut Torrence thread
Last year I didn't think Smoot played all that well. Of course, I didn't think Carlos Rogers was the answer. But both those guys have played extremely well this year and it's a joy to watch them cover guys now. In the past, they tended to give the receivers too much room, and it was an easy ten yards for every team we played. But not this year; Greg Blatch has them playing closer to the line of scrimmage and the Redskins defense is harder to get a completion on now. Where is Richardson, the guy they cut during preseason? Did he catch on with someone else, or is he not as good as I thought he was? Torrence looked lost yesterday against the Rams.

Re: The official cut Torrence thread
stupid thread. what FA could we get RIGHT NOW at vet min to do a better job and know our system? cutting him would just make our team worse, so why not look at the offense too for sucking it up and turning it over 3 times?

Re: The official cut Torrence thread
I don't blame Torrance for the Avery play. The pass rush must do a better job when they're rushing 4 linemen plus Horton. Bulger had nobody in his face, so it was an easy pitch and catch.

Re: The official cut Torrence thread
Well I watched the play again and Torrence had pretty good coverage. The problem was the WR had the inside lane and with a short pass had Torrence blocked off from making any play at the ball. He was also looking back at the ball.

Re: The official cut Torrence thread
Cut both Torrence and Smoot.
Torrence shouldn't have been on the field in that situation. If he was there because Smoot had a boo boo, then I blame Fred! He pisses me off more then anyone else on the team (including Brooks). Does he know how to wrap a guy up and tackle? We need Carlos out there coachin' those two up. Damn Smoot. Ahhhh. |
