That being said, I'm willing to see what Fassel has to offer. I am not ready to say that he is a worse choice than Gregg Williams. This was an over-emotional year in a lot of respects, and I appreciate the fact that Snyder didn't pull the trigger too quick and name GW the head coach simply for continuity purposes and the fact that some players thought he would be the best choice as Gibbs successor. I'd rather he take the time, listen to those smart guys on the payroll who have "influence" on the matter, and make the decision that best suits the team for the long run. If that means sacrificing some "continuity" then so be it. I'd rather go through some more growing pains for the short term and get it right, than go with the "popular" choice for the sake of continuity.
I tend to agree with this. However, Snyder's hiring philosophy and track record, as you point out, have not been successful. I just don't trust the guy to put together a solid FO and coaching staff. Gibbs.2 is the closest he's come, and that's getting disassembled.

The ONE thing we have lacked since DS bought the team is continuity. So to give that up now -- for what, another spin on the Snyder merry-go-round? --just has to give you a queasy feeling. Honestly, Matty and others, don't you feel just a tad ill?
