Re: All things off season 2015.

with capgate the redskins broke a rule that didn't actually exist. an unwritten rule shouldn't really be enforceable, even though the skins obviously were trying to dump salary into an uncapped year.

the psi level in footballs is a REAL rule, that's written and enforceable. if you don't enforce your rules, then they're no longer rules, they're just suggestions.

Couldn't have said it better myself. That's the best possible compliment I could ever give.

Maybe league executives were on the Cowboys party bus too.

Tom Brady's impact on NFC East race - NFC East - ESPN

Honestly, who is pulling for the league to reduce his suspension at least 1 game? I am.

Some pundits were saying that they think the NFL is not going to want to have a Brady-less game against the Cowpukes because of ratings. Also, I feel that Goodell's plan was to have Brady be suspended two games, but because of the appeals he probably upped it to four.

Honestly, to me even an upheld one-game suspension is enough to tarnish Brady's legacy. And I'm not calling him a cheater, he's just a smug idiot who thought he was above the rules (like his coach).

Re: All things off season 2015.

Interesting article from ESPN's legal guru on this.

Lester Munson: Tom Brady, NFLPA cannot win appeal filed in Deflategate

Doesn't seem to think Brady or the NFLPA have a shot in hell at overturning this.

Not as long as Goodell is the judge but also representing the NFL on this. Talk about a conflict of interest.

Judge Goodell: Commisioner Goodell, why should I keep the original punishment?
Commisioner Goodell: Because we're the same person who handed the punishment down in the first case?
Judge Goodell: Ah, great point. Punishment upheld.

(He might even throw in a little touch of Mara)
Later he whispers to Brady: You're lucky we didn't suspend you for an entire season...bitch

F Goodell. The league has become General Hospital ever since he took over.

New England Patriots, NFL working on resolution to issues with Deflategate penalties

Either the NFL doesn't agree with Munson's analysis or the NFL has done something they don't want public and think it is best for the league to resolve the matter out of the public eye.

Or Goodell is making amends with Kraft. Or something like that...

Did Kraft speak out in a halting reluctant unsteady voice, against the totally unjustified cap "penalties" levied against us and Dallass?

No?

F him.

Still, nothing has remotely close to the impact deflating the balls may be having (see graphs on the drastic improvement in fumble rate).

Robert Kraft says New England Patriots won't appeal Deflategate punishment

I must say, not surprised about this. I wonder how this affects Brady's appeal, now that the team is basically going to take their punishment.

This will not affect Brady's appeal at all.
