He probably wanted more than what the Skins wanted to give him. He will play out the market.

With Browner being 6-4, 221 and now 30 years old, could there be any thought by the Redskins of possibly moving him to safety? He has good speed and he is very rugged. He might be able to do some damage as a safety.

Or am I out of my mind, as usual?

He hasn't played safety before, so he might not be able to make the transition. Rather have him on the outside player corner jamming WR's and excelling in bump n run coverage

It would be fun to see him beating up on WR's (especially Dez Bryant) as a Redskins corner. He and Breeland would be a very physical duo.

OK then, we'll fix the safety mess by signing Browner to play corner and then moving DHall to FS and Amerson to SS.

I wouldnt want Amerson playing SS. We will draft a safety, plus if our front 7 is thst much better our secondary will look better

Re: NFL Free Agents Signings

So back to NFL Free Agent signings, DeMarco Murray is visiting the Iggles. I was hoping that Jacksonville or the Raiders would lure him out of the NFC East.

If he does sign, it'll be interesting to see him run behind Philly's line; not the same as the Cowboys IMO.

Damn you Jags and Raiders.

Filed to ESPN: DeMarco Murray, en route now to Philly, is expected to sign with Eagles, per source.

The only positive here is that Philly doesn't have the OL that Dallas has or the QB.

Re: NFL Free Agents Signings

Murray is a good signing. First move by CK that I say, "okay, that makes sense." It is also the first move that causes me any concern. When healthy, Murray is a good, solid back that will fit well into CK's system.

With that said, Murray had one great year behind a great line with D. Bryant on the edge. Prior to that he was very good but oft injured. Also, I think Philly's line, while still competent, is not the line it was three years ago. Finally, what are the numbers involved? Generally, RB's are notoriously bad ROI signings. If he gets D.Murray at ~4.0M/year, very good. If he gets, D.Murray at ~8.0/yr. very bad.

All in all, I think its pretty much a zero sum game for the Skins in that Murray is still in the Division. In the short term, his departure hurts the Cowboys, and his arrival helps the Eagles. Would have preferred Murray to go the way of Shady but, oh well, can't get everything you want.

Murray has 1,100 touches for his career and had a monster 449 touches last year alone. He's a candidate to run out of gas soon.

DeMarco Murray's deal with Eagles is expected to be 5 years, $42 million, including $21 million guaranteed, per @mortreport and I.

So Chip Kelly is paying Murray $8.4 M a year.
