Re: Redskins Free Agency 2016
Quote:
But, here's something for fans that might look a lil deeper. https://www.profootballfocus.com/blo...-news-tracker/ Former Charger Kendall Reyes lands with Redskins 10:35 a.m. ET, Fri., March 11 Washington has agreed to a one-year deal with Kendall Reyes. The former second-round pick played as a 3-4 defensive end in San Diego, and will likely play in the same role as a reserve for his new team. Reyes has struggled to live up to his draft status thus far in his career. After an average rookie year, his overall grade has ranked last or second-to-last at his position in each of the last three years. He has graded negatively in run defense in every year in the league, but he did have one good season as a pass-rusher in 2012, when his 8.1 pass-rushing productivity ranked fourth among 3-4 DEs. Expectations won’t be high in Washington, though it is possible that a fresh start with a new team and coaching staff can help turn him around. – Matt Claassen, @PFF_Matt Me: Scouts like to talk about a singular trait or ability that highlights why their team would want a prospect. For Reyes his upside is the ability the showed as a interior pass rusher in 2012. (see bolded above) Hatcher lives in the top 5 of pass rush productivity for 34 DEs, but if Reyes can re-capture that a depth player then its a good selection. Back-up money with upside of top 5 DE productivity. |
