Re: Trent Williams ends season-long holdout, rejoins Redskins
Per Josina Anderson tweet:
"Just asked a top player on a team that needs an OT --which tackle their team should draft on Thursday. He told me Trent Williams, in a little bit more colorful language though. Lol."

Mr. Thunder stealer.
Good to know that he's still held in high regards.

Re: Trent Williams ends season-long holdout, rejoins Redskins
Minnesota seems interested, and I think there could be something with Cousins and Williams at play also. If they dangle Reiff or Harris (doubtful) that would be something worth monitoring. His new contract demands make this more challenging than it should be. Either way, just want it done. I will say this: the patience this franchise has exercised with Williams (for good and bad) has been incredible. They haven't given an inch. Amazing he still has strong value considering the mess the Skins and him have created.

JMO RR has learnt from his mistakes. Belichick's was not as good as RR at his first HC spot.

Belichick went 36-44 in four years with the Browns, with only one winning season.

Re: Trent Williams ends season-long holdout, rejoins Redskins
RR is the best all around coach we have had since Joe Gibbs 2. I believe he has the right mindset to work with, not against DS, and doesn't want power as much as he wants to win, so he can focus on winning during the season and simply offer guidance in the off-season. This year is a little different with the upheaval of the front office, but going forward, I think his goal is to build a solid foundation/core and then create sustainable success.
Can it happen under DS, no one knows, but imo RR is the right man to prove it can. |

Re: Trent Williams ends season-long holdout, rejoins Redskins
Shanahan was a better pure coach but he was more power focused. My point was to be a successful coach with the Redskins you can't want all the power, which Shanahan did, because it will end in chaos. Joe Gibbs understood that and was content to work within the constraints of DS' personality and quirks (putting it nicely). Rivera seems like the same personality as Joe Gibbs. He has a fire and passion, but it's solely focused on winning, not who gets the credit. So I expect his run here to be less chaotic, less divisive, and more productive than Shanahan's.

What is the difference between Shanahan wanting “all the power” and the current “coach-centric” structure with Rivera having all the power. It’s the same thing. The fact that things were divisive and chaotic here under shanahan had nothing to do with shanahan and everything to do with bruce Allen and a Diva QB - two proven failures who undermined the coach at every opportunity. We’ll see, it’s the honeymoon but 6-10 is def on the table for year 1. Year 2? It has to be 8-8 or 9-8 if they add that extra game

Speaking of Bruce, has any media outlet even talked to the guy? Has anyone heard a peep out of him? It's like when Vinny left you knew no one would ever hire him to be in their front office. It's the same thing w/ Bruce. He's done in the NFL.

Re: Trent Williams ends season-long holdout, rejoins Redskins
RR is absolutely the best coach we have had since Joe Gibbs ! This team was a dumpster fire .. we all said worse in the league .. so to get Ron to coach was indeed a great move .. not sure we could have done any better. I’m super excited about the draft and the next season .. I have realistic expectations and looking at the long term plan

I am not ready to jump on to the "RR is our saviour" train.
